It's actually 94,000 NHS staff who haven't been double vaccinated.

When they were told they'd be sacked if they didn't have it, 55,000 came forward and had the first jab.

It’s almost like they’re setting the NHS uo to fail so they can privatise it fully.

Reading posts on here working in a car showroom seems to give a better understanding of what we should be doing.

There's many things you can blame the government for, some NHS workers not being very bright isn't one of them.

Making vaccinations mandatory for frontline staff will only add extra burden to an already over-pressured workforce.

Maybe refusing all treatment for the unvaccinated would have been a better move.

Why treat not very bright non NHS personnel?

Agree it might be a better move but it would never be possible. Personally, from 17.55 last Friday I think the only people who should be allowed in pubs, clubs, football grounds etc should be those who are double vaccinated and who have had their booster. Don't think it will have any effect on transmissions but would make it easier to get served.

No, potentially some may go but we don't know how many yet. I personally couldn't conceive of being in a high risk environment without protecting myself, family and friends by getting vaccinated. I presume there are as many reason for not getting the vaccine as there are unvaccinated people. However, there is a valid argument that their employer owes them a duty of care by ensuring they take all necessary steps to protect themselves. At least the "am too busy, can't be bothered" brigade will have their awareness sharpened.

The last thing the NHS needs is a load of it's own employees getting sick and putting the system under greater pressure than it already is. By making vaccination mandatory, no one can complain about staff taking the time to actually get vaccinated (possibly miles away from where they work.)
