Apparently they do, although I have never encountered them. "Guinea pigs have been used as experimental animals for centuries; hence 'guinea pig' for a human experimental subject. ... Today, guinea pigs are still widely used in medical research, particularly in the study of respiratory, nervous and immune systems." https://www.understandinganimalrese...still,respiratory, nervous and immune systems.
One of the lads who works for me us married to a lass from Peru. When they visit her family the regularly serve Guinea pig for dinner.
Just 15 people tested positive for coronavirus among nearly 60,000 who attended trials of mass gatherings including the FA Cup final and the Brit Awards, official figures show (Sky News).
Spain has said it is officially lifting restrictions for UK travellers from Monday, when a decree takes effect. The government says the UK and Japan will be on a list of countries whose residents are able to avoid restrictions on non-essential travel to the EU. They will not need a PCR test. But the UK government still strongly advises against non-essential travel to Spain and most other EU countries. UK tourists going to Spain will still have to quarantine on their return. Prime Minister Boris Johnson's spokesman said: "We've been clear people shouldn't be travelling to amber list [nations] for the purpose of holidays. Our advice hasn't changed. We will keep the green list under review… and will add countries where possible." https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-57199791
More than 60 million coronavirus vaccine doses have now been administered in the UK, Matt Hancock says. It comes after 762,361 first and second jabs were delivered in total across the country on Saturday - the second highest number since the rollout began late last year. Only 20 March had more vaccines administered - 844,285. https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/coro...n-administered-in-uk/ar-AAKiA5w?ocid=msedgntp
Not sure ‘just’ is the right term. That significantly higher than average in the population. Average 23 per 100k per 7 days That’s 15 in 60k in one day Can’t be arsed to do the sums but roughly 7 times the current average. Probably because the average age at those events was lower than average in the country so less vaccinated? Proof therefore that if there remains any limits to attendance it should be done on oldest allowed in first SCIENCE
In fact to encourage vaccine take up it could be free beer for anyone who has had two jabs and free jabs for anyone that buys two beers. I expect a slice of Dido’s billions for my patented campaign
For the benefit of any scousers looking in, fear not, you don't need the more expensive sweat holding replica shirts, they're talking about jabs, not jobs.
Just four cases of Covid occurred across the entire 17 days of the World Snooker Championships, staged indoors at Sheffield’s Crucible Theatre. Zero cases emerged from the Brits, even though the audience could mingle at tables and in boxes without masks. There were only two cases among 5,900 pop-lovers at an outdoor music festival at Sefton Park, Liverpool, and none at all at the reduced-capacity football at Wembley Stadium, indicating that summer festivals, sporting events and entertainments held outdoors are very safe. Nine cases were found among 6,000 revellers who packed into a nightclub in Liverpool over two days without masks. The relatively higher incidence confirmed that clubbing is the toughest part of the night economy to bring back safely but is not seen as so high as to rule out the reopening of venues. https://www.standard.co.uk/news/pol...nd-revival-june-21-oliver-dowden-b937048.html
First worrying signs of a self induced third wave. ‘ I’m not having the jab’ Big mistake... Allam’s OUT.
I have noticed they do still get that wrong! No, the bar staff are doing a fantastic job, far over an above their usual job. It's gonna cost me a fortune in tips if this carries on.
