Even in the worst-case scenario, the risk/benefit ratio for this vaccine is extraordinarily favourable. That needs to be explained to people.”
... except that irresponsible actions and sensationalist headlines will impact the take up of the gullible general public here too. Madness at a time like this.
It is baffling that on the one hand they are giving AZ a kicking for not providing enough vaccine, and on the other leaving it in fridges and not using it. Almost as if they want to distract from criticism of their own handling of the crisis. And doubly baffling that they chose to cast doubt on a vaccine which is the ultimate tool that will get us back to normal. Those seeds of doubt will give wind to the anti-vaxxers and ultimately prolong this whole horrible mess.
