My daughter was fuming that parts of London where her aunts are living have relaxed lockdowns (weaker tiers) compared to us despite them being higher affected. I suppose its because the north and maybe the whole world will go into meltdown if londoners are unable to do their daily arthur daly impressions so must be given special dispensation. i might be wrong but it did seem unfair that we are tier 3 and they were tier 2 despite worse conditions. i know my place. always have done. here in hull we are well down the pecking order and im just glad we have a copious supply of building materials for our mud huts. happy christmas to everyone in tier 3.
So we’re getting worse But we’re not getting worse as quickly as others are. Given we’ve been a few weeks behind every other wave we might have a bit of a false league position?
Not sure. I suspect we’ll have a higher level of natural immunity than say the South East who haven’t had it as badly since March/April.
A massive jump of tests being done this last week in a pre christmas rush before seeing granny up 114,000 on last week, that's going to have a big knock on effect on positive cases, hopefully things quieten down after christmas and only those feeling ill get tested.
But the tests recorded are, I believe, the PCR tests (Humber Bridge type) and you do only get those tests if you feel ill, or if the lateral flow tests have said you’re positive already. So largely the increase in testing is due to the increase in people being ill Happy Christmas anyway (just seen the time)
I remember back in 1971, an OAP being interviewed on the TV about decimal currency, she also said they should wait for all the old people to die before they introduce decimal currency.
