Watching this Championship match as there’s not much else on. The standard is absolutely shocking.

Both teams look incredibly poor. Coventry in particular. Promoted from L1 last season.

It is a bit ****e, isn't it?

I think the Championship is relatively poor outside of 4 or 5 sides though. The fact we were even close to the playoffs at one point last season shows just how poor it is.

Coventry now 2-1 up. They were as bad as I’ve seen in the first half.

The Championship has always been an extremely poor standard, it's just usually pretty even and the competitiveness of the league is what makes it so great. Considering the money splashing around in there, the quality really should be better.

Sometimes I don't think it sinks in until you're out of it. That being said, L1 is worse, I was shocked by how poor Gillingham was last weekend. They tried passing out from the back to start with, kept getting caught by our press, so just went to the long ball. I know they've a few new signings and it'll take time to gel but I thought they'd be miles better than that

Teams from the Championship would tear teams from the second division of other countries apart. And give a fair few from the top divisions a run for their money.

Whilst that's completely true, it's a little bit like comparing apples with pears due to the amount of money in the Championship. I did some research on this last season and 16/20 Ligue 1 teams actually operate on budgets that you'd expect to see in the Championship. The smallest Ligue 1 clubs have similar budgets to lower-end Champ clubs (around £18m). In terms have quality per monies spent, the Championship is extremely poor. There's this fixation about signing championship proven players but they are extremely expensive, the average wage is £16k pw in the champ according to Kieran Maguire.

Another example, Grosicki was on more with us in the second tier than playing for Rennes, who are a decent Ligue 1 side.

Well if Kieran said it... but I wonder if Karen from Facebook agrees?

The Championship is still one of the best leagues in Europe.

Karen from Facebook said so.

It is watched by more than all first divisions in Europe except the PL so something is right. To balance that there are more games but only the PL, Bundesliga and La Liga average more per game.

It's a very level playing field. When you look at Ligue 1 again, you've got PSG with a massive budget, with Monaco, Lyon & OM behind them. Then the fall off to rest is pretty stark and it gets lower and lower. It's like Man City playing Milwall most weeks, it's barely worth watching.

I love the Bundesliga but Bayern are so far beyond the rest, but the remainder of the league ispretty competitive and it's an enjoyable brand of football
