A below-par performance with about the only good thing to say about it is that somehow a point was secured. Yes, it was the third game in a week but many other teams had the same and managed a win yesterday. If some players were struggling in training after the Charlton game ( especially the forwards) they could have started on the bench with fresh legs like Ladapo and AJLS coming in. A positive was Grimmer who was trying to make things happen in the second half. He linked well with Riley who surely must come into midfield next week in place of Yates who is trying his best but looks out of his depth at the moment. As for the penalty Humphreys stepped up at Peterborough to score very coolly so it would seem to make sense to have let him carry on taking them.
The transfer window recruitment surely brought in one too many strikers and not enough midfielders (especially with Black leaving) and lets hope we can scrape enough points to stay up in the next ten games with a midfield that is not functioning well.
