Hope we smash Cov but would settle for a highly-entertaining 3-3 draw that includes Woolmer going comically arse-over-tit.
Seems to me Warburton, to his credit imo, always goes into a game aiming to win it, and if a game is tied around half way through the 2nd half he still makes substitutions aimed to win if he can, rather than subs Intended to shore us up for a point. Totally agree with this philosophy. I want and expect 3 points at Coventry, at our best we are better than them. The League Table reflects that. We are 4th', they are 9th. All this "I'll take a point" is so f***** negative. Getting 1 point all season can get you relegated.
I think we can beat Cov too and certainly hope we do. But considering we have key players missing, are not playing quite as good as we can at present and they are not a bad team, especially at home......I don't think a point would be the end of the world. And you cannot 'expect' 3 points from any matches in this league. If we do only get a point on Saturday, I dont think we'll start worrying about relegation.
I thought we played pretty well 2nd half against WBA without Chair, Dieng and Kakay. We've also had another clear week, so no reason why we shouldn't be close to our best again Saturday. Think it may get harder the longer they are away and when we play 2 games a week, when key players like Willock especially without Chair, start tiring.
Wow the league leaders can only muster 800 fans to go to Stoke........ Is there a sale on at Harrods?
I'm a bit worried that every time we take a huge support to an away game it always flatlines. Peterborough away this season for instance. Sheff Weds away 2004 the obvious exception. I wonder where we stand as an away travel following as in percentage to home attendance? We must be right up there? Please don't let us down this weekend Rangers.
When I used to have many debates with the Reading fans on here I remember looking at a stat and our away support v home support percentage was one of the best.
I very rarely get to the home games anymore, but still get to a good few away ones. Obviously before I had nerve damage on my legs I was a regular in Ellerslie Road In R Block, we did make the most noise lol, but now can only muster a few games a season what with the leg room at Loftus. Manage to get a lift or short train trips for a few away games, just always seems to be the commaradarie at away games these days that there used to be at home games. Obviously times change and supporters from gone days sadly pass away or can no longer get to games, allied to the fact that when the team are doing well every supporter seems happier and more want to go. It can become sapping travelling long distances to see your team battered every single time, but I believe we have some of the best supporters about when it comes to travelling to watch the hoops. Whether it's because we've become immune to the pain or we're just real supporters, I can say from my experiences that no matter what the score I always hear our fans singing at the top of their voices supporting our boys ! Every time I'm in attendance it makes me proud to be a hoop
Nobody who was there is still around though. We do have a tendency to bottle big big away days but then we’ve won every game recently and are basically an unstoppable promotion train ChooChoo!
If Watford starts giving people stick about age… just say I was there when Jensen scored… and Gallen Allen and Impey. Age has its benefits.. I could also mention the FA Cup.
