Ouch don't get any tougher top of table and they are flying.

Bristol City have a stern test today and will do very well to come back down the motorway with points-however we are one of the best form wise away from home and i do believe if city can produce that second half performance against Leicester anything is possible it all depends on which Bristol City team turns up.
Play Armstrong and Riss from the start we looked a different team when they were both on the pitch.

Predictions -

Continuing their charge towards the Premier League, Coventry City welcome Bristol City to The Coventry Building Society Arena for a Championship battle on Saturday afternoon.

The Sky Blues were forced to settle for a point on the road last time out, and the same can be said of the Robins in the East Midlands.

Match preview

After a couple of failed playoff attempts over the past three years under Mark Robins, Coventry City are hunting down automatic promotion to the Premier League this time around, but their charge has taken a tiny detour.
The Sky Blues have collected just the single point from their last two matches in the second tier, losing heavily at the base of promotion favourites Ipswich Town, before sharing the spoils with Preston North End earlier in the week.

Looking to record their 14th second-tier success of the campaign at the third attempt in December, Frank Lampard's side are sitting pretty at the very summit of the Championship standings, five points ahead of Middlesbrough in second.

The form of the Sky Blues at their CBS Arena base has been simply stunning so far, with Saturday afternoon's hosts winning seven and drawing two of their nine contests at the venue, netting 25 goals in the process.

With some notable attacking players on the sidelines for Coventry at the moment, goals are coming from all across the team, including American marksman Haji Wright, who bagged eight strikes to date this season.
Due to the nature of the playoff race this season, there is the opportunity for a team to rise through the crowd and cement themselves in the top six, but Bristol City are currently one of the teams passing up that chance.
The Robins have now tasted victory in just one of their last four second-tier contests after a pulsating clash with former Premier League champions Leicester City on Wednesday, when Mark Sykes and Emil Riis Jakobsen found the net at Ashton Gate.

Collecting just the single point from their opening two matches of the December schedule, Bristol City are languishing down in 10th place in the Championship table, one point off the playoffs and nine behind second-placed Boro.

Gerhard Sturber's troops have fared relatively well on the road so far this season, with the West Country outfit losing just two of their nine away matches, and they rank fifth in the away form table, behind the likes of Coventry and Millwall.

Scoring the only goal during Bristol City's most recent away success at Fratton Park against Portsmouth on November 29, Anis Mehmeti is the star of the show in attack for the visitors, scoring six in the Championship so far.

We say: Coventry City 2-0 Bristol City

Despite both sides keeping a league-high seven clean sheets so far, we are not expecting a goalless affair between Coventry and Bristol City this weekend.

After a pair of challenging away matches, the Sky Blues will be hellbent on flexing their title-winning credentials at the CBS Arena.

Coventry City and Bristol City meet in the Championship on Saturday as both look to strengthen their promotion bids.

Coventry City come into this weekend’s clash with Bristol City still sat at the top of the Championship table. However, they will be frustrated to have been held to a draw by Preston North End on Tuesday.

The hosts went a man down in the first half but were frustrated for much of the match. The Sky Blues eventually took the lead through an Andrew Hughes own goal 20 minutes from time, only for Daniel Jebbison to equalise six minutes later.

Frank Lampard will be demanding a response here as they return to the CBS Arena, where they have won six straight matches.

As for Bristol City, they will be eager to strengthen their play-off bid with a big result away at Coventry City. They come into this one after fighting back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 at home with Leicester City.

It was a fine comeback from the Robins, who pulled the first back through Mark Sykes within the first minute of the second half. Emil Riis levelled the scores seven minutes from time to secure a point.

James Ray

“It speaks volumes about just how good Coventry City have been that a loss and a draw in the last two games marks their closest thing to a ‘blip’ so far. Nonetheless, they’ll be determined to bounce back here.

“Returning to home turf, where they have been imperious, I do think the Sky Blues stand a good chance of getting back to winning ways here. With some more lackadaisical though, Bristol City do have the

quality
to punish them.
“The Robins have been inconsistent in their results and they have to try and iron that out of their game if they’re going to make something of this opportunity to make the play-offs again. Unfortunately, I’m not sure they get a result to help their bid against Coventry City.”

Prediction: Coventry City 2-1 Bristol City

Harry Mail

Coventry City will want to return to winning ways as soon as possible to avoid any talk of a potential slip up. They are winless in their last two outings and have Middlesbrough chasing them down.

“The Sky Blues have been brilliant this season and have strength in depth. Frank Lampard will be confident his team can pick up three points this weekend.

Bristol City have been hit and miss of late and you never really know what Robins side will show up. They are only one point off the play-offs.

“Gerhard Struber’s men have lost three out of their last four matches though. I think they are in line for another defeat on Saturday too.”

Prediction: Coventry City 3-1 Bristol City

No Vyner today - can’t remember the last time he missed a game. That weakens us defensively, big time, not good against a team that score so many. I fear a drubbing today with this lineup.

The risk of starting Armstrong is, we have no one to come of the bench and stretch them later on the game. Sincs can’t play 90 mins at that tempo, and can’t see Mayulu coming on and stretching hem as he’s bone idle

I thought we did quite well in that half..Vitec has been inspiring plus Armstrong has been playing really well. Hit the post plus turn and shot saved plus a perfectly good goal which for some reason (nobody knows) was not given..

Playing with the lack of players like us will make most games more difficult especially against good teams like Covenry. We are only down 1-0 and our total lack of good strikers is our downfall today as Riis and Armstrong couldn't hit a barn door from 2 feet. Let's see if we can get one back before any changes are made because I don't see much on the bench.

Consensus on OTIB and on the Interweb seems to be that we played well overall and deserved an equaliser.
A couple of complimentary comments on FB by Cov fans saying we were good and deserved a draw.
We just need to keep our heads up and not let bad refereeing dash our confidence.
