I’m not sure if it’s our fan base or society in general now, but bloody hell ppl are huffy and demanding. Yes today was poor, but bloody hell way some go on is embarrassing. I’m pleased I don’t do social media now.

It's astounding that people should be so desperate to attack genuine supporters who only hope for the best.

What a sad state of affairs.

    Mate <doh>

FFS, this board has reached a new low.

A Mag has a so called Sunderland supporter as a mate ...

... I'm seriously considering whether I should just sack this place off tbh.

If I don't come back can I just say a big thank you to all the decent people on here.

I can take losing but it hurts a lot more when the opposition want it more. Embarrassing today, second best all over the park

That was definitely a major issue today. Was canny clear after 10 mins that the players didn't fancy it. We lost nearly every tackle across every part of the pitch. I was shocked to be honest. We didn't look to run as hard, take care over touches and the tackles were weak. I know Neil has had a few poor games of late but today was probably the worst I have ever seen him play.

I was impressed with Coventry but we were really poor like. Can’t believe how bad it was straight after HT too, what’s he said in there?! We were really there for the taking.

It's odd to think there's people getting annoyed because players are getting mild praise on match threads.

My issue is, we are in a better place than we have been for 7 years.
We as a club knew we needed to go in a new direction, but we SEEM to have done it half arsed.
If you own a club like ours, these opportunities only come round one in a decade, we could have bought better I agree some of our young talent is exciting. But we needed a lot more experience.
We could argue this for weeks, and still not be satisfied. So goodnight.

It's not our fan base it's society in general imo mate.
I live in North East .....Wales <laugh>
Similar scenario to North East Sunderland. Hard working miners, steel industry etc, all fooked since Thatcher.
People were hard working and respectful but fought for better standards years ago. Once we got them it's started to slip away with modern society and greed.

Sunderland were the best team in the country at one time. I think that's a reflection of the way people were before money took over.

i want us back in the premier League as much as the next man. But after all the turmoil in the club. I'm happy with the way we're heading.

Really fair comments. The summer and winter window has been absolutely ****e TBH. So many players doing nothing. Not getting a minute. I love looking ahead but christ, when the here and now if forgotten about, it's a big issue. We signed no full back cover, we will now pay that price. No right winger so Roberts plays every minute.

I think this place is great. People speak their mind and that's all you want. I don't see any agendas or people crawling out the woodwork etc. I do have an issue with people ignoring reality and re framing things just to try and make the club look better. We all love the club but they make mistakes like any business. That's ok, I wish some would just say it. But it's not in their DNA which makes it really hard to have authentic debate.

I think it’s true that all teams have good and bad runs.
A good run doesn’t last forever and nor does a bad run.

We can all agree we’ve been a bit off these last few games and today was probably the worst.

    well…..

Given our position and points cushion, if we were going to have a bad run, now is the best time in the whole season to have one as it will probably have very little effect. If we stay in 4th position we play 5th and if we slip to 5th we play 4th.

With 8 (I think) games left there’s lots of time to get back to winning ways and to find ways of correcting the things we are now doing poorly.

If we started a bad run with only 2 or 3 games left it would be much harder to put things right.

We should have Enzo back with a few games to get up to speed.
We might find we already have a ‘good ‘un’ already such as Aleksic who may get a run of games with others injured.
Maybe some of our other injured lads (like Poveda and Ballard) might become available for the last few games before the play offs and will be a bit fresher than opposition players who have had no real break.

Bad runs come to an end. Ours may well end in a few games and we start playing better again.
This bad run isn’t really hurting our play off hopes.
If we do carry on playing awful and miss out on the play offs we will not deserve promotion.
Today was ‘orrible but it won’t always be like that.
