You can see why teams are reluctant to attack us. We are absolutely lightning on the counter and put together some really impressive moves.
Impressive win and arguably our best performance to inflict Coventry’s first home league defeat of the season. Thoroughly outplayed them.
That’s two very good results against this division’s runaway league leaders. We’ve just got to find a way to be more consistent and incisive against teams content to sit back. Getting in a proper centre forward - who can stick the ball in the back of the net - would be a good start.
Got to give a shout out to Kipre at the back, Taylor and Matusiwa in midfield, Greaves in the left back role, Nunez, and Jack Clarke. Nobody had a bad game, but those players really stood out for me tonight.

We've had plenty to moan about tbh!! For most of the season we have been poor to bang average. Long may this continue, any coincidence that we have not been making 10 changes of late, something us moaners was moaning about!!
What a result. Everything feeling much rosier. Good to see Burns back on the score sheet.
We shouldn't look past the fact that the way Coventry play suits us. Winning the games we're clear favourites for is the next challenge to push ourselves into the autos.

It’s up there, considering his long lay off. But Philogene’s long ranger against Norwich easily tops moment of the season for me so far.
Best performance since last time we were in this league and exactly the kind of performance we have expected this season. Last time we were in the Champ we didn't dominate possession too often but we stuck in there and always looked dangerous on the ball.
I felt given the amount we've spent this time we should be bossing the game and in particular first half we did that, which is a great considering Coventrys home form and we weren’t just passing it about amongst the CBs. I thought generally our attacking play was much better today, in part because Clarke was starting to find pockets of space in the middle of the pitch, the space which Broadhead used to operate in and with Azons runs this meant there was more space for Greaves on the left and it also drew their defenders and midfielders out of position. It also meant the gap between the defence and the attack seemed less. Clarke was probably MOM today but in moments he still infuriated me, as there were opportunities to play the ball and he just held onto it for far too long, the one time he should been selfish and held onto if for longer he decided to cross the ball.
I thought Greaves had a good game but I think Davis would have had a field day today with the space down that side. Also good to see some of the crosses go in earlier (although still could improve the quality and players getting on the end of them).
Furlong did well and showed some passion and gamesmanship today which is good to see as I've felt this team has lacked a bit of character.
Walton again rock solid and one outstanding save from a deflected shot that he managed to palm upwards over the oncoming striker. Maybe not as good as Rushworths save from Taylor though..wow.
I know everyone is banging on about getting a striker and whilst we could improve in that area for me the priority is bringing in at least 1 midfielder to come in alongside Matusiwa as a playmaker. It's important if we only sign 1 that they are also able to act as cover for him. In terms of the forward positions unless McKenna is going to rip it up which I cant imagine he will given the amount we've spent on players we just need to stick with what we've got and find ways to get the best out of them.

What an outstanding performance! That was how we have all been hoping we could play. We performed like the great Ipswich of 2023/24. Maybe better in some ways.

To a man the Ipswich lads did us proud. Furlong didn't get frustrated with Mason-Clarke, even though he should've been booked 4 times. Kipre was immense, and Greaves at LB was really good..watch out Leif, might be tough to just walk back into the team. Taylor and Matusiwa were excellent in midfield, Taylor adds real bite and competitiveness, Azor must be in the team of the season at defensive mid. Walton was superb, no way Palmer gets in at the moment. Walton actually bloody catches the ball when needed, punches rarely but does so when it's required.
Jack Clarke, played way better than Jaden has been lately. Nunez is making that 10 spot his own.
Azon, his downfall is that he ends up on the floor too often. Every touch he feels, he goes down. Refs notice this and when there is actually a legit free kick/penalty to be given, they ignore it. Azon was clear in the second half, took a nick off the defender and it should've been given, but because of his tendency to go down easily, it went against him in the long run. Toughen up lad, stay on your feet when you can and when you do actually get tackled, you might just get the call.
That felt like a performance akin to our last promotion winning team. The intensity was there, the connections were there, and the result was earned. This will do wonders for the overall team chemistry and I expect us to become pretty formidable in the weeks ahead.
The two goals scored took deflections, but so did lots of goals during both of our promo campaigns. The experiences within the squad are building and we will forge on towards promotion. So happy that Wes scored, you could see the difference with his celebration and the connection to the crowd and the love for the club as opposed to the newer players, but I think that will breed comradery throughout the team now. Glad to have him back, he may well be the difference in the second half of the season.
Do we still need a clinical striker though? Azon played well today, harassing and running channels, but we lack a quality finisher. It's reminiscent of our successful teams, where the main striker wasn't top scorer, but having one would make us even more dangerous.
We won, Norwich lost, great day!

Gaffer, you and me were typing a similar post at the same time, love it! Took me a while to compose mine though, I'm busy drinking and enjoying the fantastic win.
What I liked about last night and I think it was epitomised by the Burns goal, was players finding pockets of space. Clarke did it a lot last night too and it made a huge difference. For some reason this season our players seem to want to run as close as possible to opposition players.
Just shows how involved I was, totally immersed, and still in shock! No-one will live with us at that level.
