  1. Cavani was similar to Bale in that he was bought by a club that throws far to much money at something they want. that's not me saying both players are poor, just not worth the kind of money paid. Cavani is a better player than Bale too IMO.

I just don't see Ozil ever being the main man at Arsenal, I actually think he is close to being dropped and for me Rosicky gives them more. I think If Flamini and Ramsey were both playing then they could get away with playing a passenger like Ozil but with both of them out you really see them struggle in midfield.

  3. Maybe Ozil has lost a bit of motivation? He was at Real Madrid, one of the top clubs in the world that fought for La Liga and the CL every year whilst playing alongside the likes of Xabi Alonso and C.Ronaldo but now he's at Arsenal. Maybe its pressure of being seen as the main man? Maybe he just needs time to settle? I personally thinks its the latter and we'll see the best of him next year.

Or maybe hes just not that good, only time will tell I suppose but I think he needs people beside him to do the donkey work that he is too lazy to do and when he doesn't have this he is a complete liability on the pitch.

  5. He's done it in Germany, Spain and for Germany so I sincerely doubt it is a case of him not being good enough. Maybe he doesn't suit England?

As I said above though, I think we'll see the best of him next season. I don't think there is a better number ten around when he's on form.

You could argue that for his reputation, price tag and ability that he shouldn't need a season to adapt. Perhaps he isn't suited to this league, but if he is as you say the best number 10 in the world when on form, he should be doing a lot more than he currently is.

    Coutinho is the clear winner

    • Suits our playing style better
    • Cheaper fee
    • Cheaper wages
    • Younger

Does anyone think that us giving Arsenal Coutinho plus £34m in return for Ozil would be a good idea?

  12. I agree with Astro (<yikes>) in that Coutinho suits us better. plus, there is absolutely no way I'd take that swap either! But I do think Ozil is a top class player that is still finding his feet. I'd happily be wrong mind since he's playing for a rival and he's German of course :bandit:
