I had a thread closed for mentioning Thatcher the other day. Not praising or criticising her, just mentioning she had cut the top rate of tax. Consistency, eh?
The bumping of this thread should be brought to the Allams attention. If only goes to show how things could have been. It shows how most people held the Allams in high esteem at the beginning. The fans were all for the Allams. Then Allam snr decided to treat the fans with utter contempt instead of keeping them onside in his ongoing battle with the council. It seems the fans were irrelevant even when they were lobbying the council over the Allams. For balance I guess we need to dig out the threads on the name change, irrelevant fans, hooligans etc... Such a shame that as owner, Assem was much loved by Hull City fans. Then he ****ed it all up by not understanding them at all... And underestimating their resolve.
i wonder how many have changed their minds. i'd heard about allam's "business methods" before he bought the club.

some not unlike what subsequently happened at city. cut staff, replace knowledgable ones with cheap ones, etc. there's more, but the opinion of a lifelong friend who worked there was spot on when the allams bought the club. others will know more than i do.
Just goes to show the level of dishonesty Assem Allam employed in his business manipulation of HCC and the people of Hull. Nothing's changed, except enlightened opinion.
There's always been a politics ban, but there hasn't always been me moderating (though I can't actually remember when I was and wasn't moderating).
