Nope, chap, you got it wrong. Arsenal have never been big spenders, we have never been top dog financially yet we won titles in recent history by shrewd purchases and the regeneration of our club We bought players cheap who provided massive impact and we changed a philosophy of how the game should be played - thats why we won league titles.
He's a top player and I agree he won't move for money but with only 2 or 3 years left at the top he will want to win something, seven years with nothing to show must be hard for him, my guess is Chelsea, utd, Barca or Madrid, City don't need him.
Dude, I'm not too bothered about city to be honest, I expect us to overtake you next season - if Wenger buys the players we need, I am not one of those fans who think wealth alone wins matches. But I have to tell you that you are talking bollox ! firstly, we rewarded Southampton handsomely for our buys - unlike Spurs who paid a pittance for Bale. Then you have the audacity to criticise the quality of the players we have .... when you have bought Adebayor, Nasri, Clichy and Toure from us directly You bloody idiot.
You state that you develop players who are not good enough for you but go and play for other clubs, you then go on to say that you would be worried for City's youth players because they may not get a chance, strange! Aguero, Toure, Nasri and Silva, yes it's nice to have all these players but individually they were all within the price range of the top 6 clubs. Disagree about Wenger, don't think he wants anyone earning more than him!
I was making a point about the amount coming from our youth system. Wilshere, Gibbs and Cole have all made it from recent history (does Chessers count too?). There's a lot of excitement about a few others there right now. CB would happily point out some of them to you, Serge Gnabry being one. Disagree again with you about your top stars. Yes most top clubs can afford one or two but not all on those wages. Certainly not if you want to play with FFP or be self-sustaining. Your last point I assume is a joke. If not it's daft. If the board could afford Messi to play at Arsenal then we wouldn't say no because it'd damage Wenger's ego.
I was talking about your current squad, the one with a couple of exceptions, seriously lacking in quality, yes we also reward clubs handsomely for our purchases which seems to upset a lot of people!

My point was that you and any of the top 6 could have bought Aguero, Toure or Silva and any one of them would have improved your team, but Wenger does not seem to go for these players and I don't understand why!
Neither do most Arsenal fans. Maybe it was partly in faith with his current squad, denial, belligerence, no go from the board, no money, we did and had no joy (seem to recall we'd made queries about Toure), wage structure proved a barrier (see Mata). Either way we did nothing and most on here weren't happy. Bar Piskie. He's always happy .
he's always happy 'cos some poor deluded lady actually wanted to marry him !! Amazing, I know - but some women just can't see beyond his assets. (nudge nudge).
You are 100% wrong about Toure. Once City offerred him 200K/week no other club could touch him. No sensible club can have one player earning double what the next highest paid player on the team is earning.
