250k! That's 150k more than you're making, from 5 million a year, to 12, that's a huge difference. Yes, 60k alone is a lot, but nobody ever says hey don't give me more money, you will be very happy making 60k a week, but if someone says i got 250k a week for you, you will definitely think about it. Arsenal need to give RVP a very good deal, 125k a week, nowhere near City, but that would be a very good offer.
Ok first of all Robin is already astonishingly rich so why want more money. Two, Robin is not a **** like Frog-face and Clichy.
What a pathetic thread Arsenal have been gorging on the CL cash cow for years along with the others in the sky 4 syndicate and were one of the main players in setting up the premier league which was so advantageous to the bigger clubs it helped make the sky 4 develop a gulf between themselves and the also rans to the point where only a sugar daddy club could break in to disturb the monopoly.I didn't see anyone moaning when the scales were tipped so heavily in your favour. And " frog face" will be winning his first premier league title next weekend and Robin will be looking on enviously,it might not be just about the money
The money we have made from CL has helped us become self sustaining, and helped pay for the Emirates. For the last 6 years we have been in transfer credit by 6 million per year. All you guys have done is to let other clubs develop talent and throw oil money at it. You have no youth policy, and will continue to destroy competition until you are stopped. To be honest your season has been disastrous, for all that money you should have won PL months ago, my granny could win PL if you gave her 250 mill, and she's been dead for years.
Is that not the same as letting Southampton nurture youngsters like Walcott & ox then you throw sustainable money at them? We have no youth policy? Really? Nothing like somebody just spouting nonsense without doing any research is there .http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-14973123 We are on the verge of winning our first title for 44 years and that's disastrous? Your grannys beyond the grave management I couldn't hope to assess Plank
Just read your link, it says "Plans have been unveiled" very similar to when I unveiled plans to lay our new patio. Mrs BG was not impressed. and still isn't because that was 4 years ago. I actually would prefer you to win PL because I hate Ferguson, but please don't regard it as a great achievement, as I said, with that kind of spending anyone could have done the same.
I have no problem with city winning the league, in fact I've been cheering them on !!! Good luck to them. I have no bad blood for Clichy or Nasri either. I'll be happy that Fergie gets beaten by the noisy neighbours, they deserve the title, Man U are pants. As for us dominating financially, not in a million years, but we should be more competitive than we are at present !!!
Have some sympathy with this. CL football has widened the gap between the top 4 and the rest of us, to the point that the rest of need a poor season from one of you (usually Liverpool) to get in on the act. Sure, it was an achievement to get top 4 in the first place, but it soon became self perpetuating. Only Spurs and Everton have had a go at the CL in ages. However titles delivered by a sugar daddy is moving from one bad situation to another. There needs to be a more equitable split of resources so we are all competing on a reasonably level footing. Who really wants the richest clubs to win every time? If I were a Chelsea or City supporter I am not sure how much happiness I would get from success, given it is almost expected with the resources being thrown at the clubs.
Eh? As has previously been stated we're a self sufficient model. We've been lauded as an example of how clubs should manage their finances. We're not throwing money we don't have at problems despite the pleas from some. Had you have listed a club like United who continue to spend whilst being in debt then maybe I'd have given you more credit.
what part of righting wrongs was difficult to grasp? frankly i dont care about whether your club is a supersustainability role model. All that concerns me is whether my season ticket is affordable which it is and how my team do on the pitch.I wouldnt have commented if the nonsense spouted in the thread had been accurate, which it isnt
What wrongs?! Being a top 4 club for years? Boo-fecking-hoo. We hired a great manager donkeys years ago who changed the face of football in this country and has kept us where we are. Many clubs have spent far more than us in an effort to overtake without joy. Let's not pretend you're some noble saints coming to set the records straight. You've brought success and will get the same credit for winning things that Chelsea got. Zero.
I was alluding to the youth policy mainly,I couldn't really care much about the rest as all clubs buy the league title in one way or another,it's just a ridiculous argument that no one can hope to win
But if you win it it will be because you've brought it! Toure, Aguero, Nasri and co didn't join you fo' free. Same as with Chelsea a few years back. I don't especially judge City for spending if they have the cash as I've no doubt I'd be as bad in defending my team if Usmanov took over! I also don't really mind if you outbid us for people. It's the nature of the game if you have the money. We sh*t on the teams below us who in turn sh*t on others. What grates on most Arsenal fans is that (until a few years back) we're weren't that used to it happening to us. Arsenal have a good youth set up. We create a lot of very talented players who, whilst not neccessarily good enough for us, do well in other top flight clubs. City too have a good youth set up but how much of a chance it will have to flourish if you continue to buy ready made talents is another matter. Aguero, Nasri, Silva and so forth will be at the top escelons of football for many years to come and were I in the reserves/youth at City I'd be very cynical about ever getting my chance.
So you are happy at being a top 4 club now, take City out of the equasion and you would still be miles behind utd, in fact the league would have been over 2 months ago. Until your manager, the highest paid in the EPL, starts to invest in some quality players you will slip further behind and don't tell me you don't have the money, truth is I don't think he can handle big name players, you can continue to rape the Southampton's of this world but it aint going to win you anything as the last 7years show. As for credit, if City win anything us fans like Chelsea's could't give a flying f**k what you think!
Hmm, you clearly didn't read the whole thread, or even the sentences you quoted. I'll go through your points though as it's a slow day for me... Did I say I was happy at being top 4 only? No, I assumed that was what Paul was unhappy about - us monopolising it. Am I happy we're behind United? Course not! What tw*t would be? We are investing in players. Hopefully we're making the correct moves this time. For years we've been calling out for early big signings and now have Podolski with possibly M'Vila on the way too. We've been unhappy because we've been soooo close and have had the finances there to be used (as far as I'm aware). Wenger can't handle big name signings? Bullsh*t. Continue to rape Southampton? Read my previous post. veryone sh*ts on the teams below, finances depending. We take players from Saints, they take them from lower clubs and you take them for everyone (for 5x the price).
