Agree NS. Although if Leon does go the obvious move for ne would be Tom Carroll.

But wouldn't he then be in that same position...? Can't see him displacing Cork either...although you could play Carroll & Cork in the same midfield...I see Carroll being more comfortable up the field than Leon (more like Allen than Britton)

I agree with your trail of thought here but there will be games where Leon would natural be more effective than Cork, why can't they be rotated on times with Cork getting the Lions share, why has Leon got to be completely locked out until Cork gets injured? Maybe I am being too sentimental where Leon is concerned.

I'm thinking of Carroll as a back up for Cork. Not sure about Fulton.

I dont know what part you dont understand about Leon..The facts are Leon will not play if cork is fit. If he is not fit monk has offered him a chance to fight for his place against others who can step into cork's shoes so he has as much chance as everyone else, Leon wants regular football but we all know he is not going to get regular football. Monk has asked him to stay so what more can he do other than drop cork and let Leon play. The ball is in Leon's court where he has the choice to stay and fight for a place or move on. He and he alone has made a choice that benefits him and even though i am saddened to see him go i respect his choice.......nobody is forcing him to go its what he wants to do to play regular football that we cant offer him anymore......

I have been grateful for Leon's contribution over the seasons and though we didn't see him much last season he seemed to give the ball away more than in the past. Monk can't afford to be sentimental and if he feels Leon;s legs are starting to go then by leaving him out he is doing the right thing for the club . On the subject of Fulton he seemed to do ok against Borussia.

Harry Redknap thinks Leon can still do a job and has praised Leon's attitude and stats over the years the article is on the BBC sports website.
