Tabanou can cover in midfield as he has played there before and the fact that Raheem Hanley is in the squad in Germany suggests this may be the thinking.
Dai can see what monk and Leon see's unfortunately some cant see further than sentiment and fail to see progress for the club and Leon..
Nothing to do with sentiment, but all to do with Leon still capable of doing a job for us, something some of us including Monk can see but unfortunately you cannot......
Not sure about that Dai, matter of fact I have it on good authority that it was all done over the phone between Huw and Michu's agent.
He was seen by countless people and i had it confirmed by a friend who works for the club. It makes a lot of sense now with the comments by the club...
Leon played today as Captain for the U21's v Wrexham , he was comfortable as ever on the ball and made everything look easy , If I had been one of those players out there today I'd I thought what a pleasure to play alongside one of the Clubs true legends . He went off 15 minutes approx. imately into the second half and we didn't look the same team , big shoes to fill no doubt about that .
They want him to stay they have made that plain enough, It's Leon who wants to go so what can they do,,,, Good luck to him its his choice...
He doesn't want to go though Dai, Monk has locked him out of the first team, all done while he was injured, some thanks for all his service, if he could no longer do a job I wouldn't say so much but Leon and his position and game could easily go on until he is 35, why is Monk being such a nugget over this?
Thing is though Phil it's the way the game works. This happened to Taylor, he got injured Ben Davies stepped up and he took Taylor's place off him, in that case Davies left. I don't think we should be running the team on sentiment, other players have stepped up, what do you do about them as they have rightly earned their way into the first 11 ?
Yes I understand all that, but surely we can have a better situation than this? There should be better management of these situations in my view, Leon at his age needs game time, Taylor could afford to sit on the bench as he was younger.
Whilst that's fine Phil, are you saying Cork should be dropped?! He would be furious as he is the better player and has the potential to improve further with consistent game time. I would much rather Britton stayed as backup to Cork, but if wants 90mins week in week out then we can't really stand in his way. Personally I'd much rather that than Jay Fulton as I'm not convinced by him yet, but I can see the thinking behind these decisions.
