He would say that just like we all say but Leon must do whats best for Leon, As i have said he has his coaching badges to keep him busy on top of training and his ever growing PR work he does with schools etc......Being selfish i hope he decides to stay but if he dont then i wont blame him one bit, its a great opportunity....
[QUOTE="monks hero's, post: 8115848, guesswork by WoL 100Probablybased on our Leon Britton will bide his time over potential options on his future amid suggestions he could be ready to follow Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard to Major League Soccer. So He knows about it...[/QUOTE] As I said no quotes from the club just guesswork by WoL.
Well Leon stayed in Swansea and did not travel with the team. What does that tell us ?........Nothing yet but its a good indication that he could be off to the states for a while. Good luck to him if he does but dont forget to come back..
Its probably Leon's choice that's why. Monk have made it plain enough he wanted him to stay. I think its a great opportunity for him at the end of the day. He will learn a lot and hopefully come back in a couple of years in some job at the club.....He has done his bit as a player and if he is going to only be a bit part player then he is right to try elsewhere.....
If he is still regarded as quality last season then he would have played more. ....We have to accept and i know its hard but Leon is past his quality best and is coming to the end of top flight football, If he was as good as we have seen in the last ten years then he would not be dropped to the bench and even not on the bench.....Leon was quality but sadly like it happens to us all that quality begins to diminish and new younger players are brought in to replace him.....Its a fact of life or Leon would be first choice today.....
We have plenty of cover valley as last season proved. He is surplus to requirements and knows he wont get much if any game time if any or he would have gone on tour with the rest fighting for his place......whether we like it or not Leon has come to the end of regular football with us and the club have not pushed him out ..they let him decide on what he wants to do and he has made his decision. I think he has made the right decision....
cork .ki were both better than what Leon is today, maybe not in Leon's prime but today they are better. he is never going to get a game and he knows it...hence his decision.
Dai, my argument is the cover on the bench. Unless we bring in someone like Carroll we need to keep Leon.
