On numerous occasions it has been stated that one team comes into form towards the end of the season and sneaks into a playoff place.

On current form, it is by no means beyond the bounds of possibility for that team to be us!

Would you like to:

1) Finish comfortably top 8--10 with a view to aiming high next season.

2) Get to the playoffs, have another couple of games but stop there.

3) Get to Wembley but lose!

4) Well, I'm sure I don't need to spell out No.4.

I suppose TF and Co would bite your hand off for No.4!

I'm ok with Nos. 1 and 2, would be amazed with No 4 but, after seeing Derby at Wembley, not so keen on No.3.

I think the full national lottery strapline applies. "It could be us - but it.probably won't be"!
 
I personally don't think it will happen. Not a chance in hell. If it did by some strange footballing miracle, I would opt for option 4. Palace weren't ready to go up and look what's happened to them, the same could be said for Watford, Norwich, Swansea or Bournemouth. I think the old saying goes ... ' Never look a gift horse in the mouth? '

I wonder what would have happened with us in the current premier league if we was in it during this very weird season? You never ever know.

Take it if you can and when you can because next season we might do a Bolton or a Fulham.

Get yourself in the best position you can and then take it from there. You're better placed to live in the worse house on the best street than the best house in the worse street.

Agree unlikely 9s but just interesting to speculate given our definite up turn in form.

Take whatever you can get mate. No matter what the situation. Hopefully a win against Preston but you never know. That's why we support the R's. A win and everything's good in life, a draw is acceptable, a loss and we return to doom and gloom . That's the basic format for us. Dreaming of better things is good.

No more night shifts for me ... ever RTID. I retire on the 24th of this month, my 50th birthday and that's it. Job done. Another chapter in my life over. It's been good and I loved the job but it's time to get out. I enjoyed going on shouts and doing what we were there for but it's a young man's game. I couldn't stand the politics and the huge changes implemented over too short a time in the end. I could stay on and do another three years but can't see the point of it.
I will now have the comfort of looking at the fixture list and no longer worry about shift changes, taking leave and getting others in to cover for me etc.

Crikey! I may even have to change my username!

I'm up late tonight as my nephew is seriously ill and in intensive care and have been to visit him down on the south coast. He's on the mend but hopefully it will all be good.

Then again I've always been a bit of a nightowl. I like the peace of the late hours.

Fair play to you 999's. I am sure you have done your duty for the good citizens of London. I know every fireman throughout the world has seen some terrible sights with fires and accidents. I am sure all members of the public salute the great job you lads do. Take a bow.

Have you plans for what you do from here? 50 is way too young to become a gentleman of leisure.

Thanks finglas, that's some very nice comments. Your perception is correct and I've had the ability to thankfully tuck them away somewhere into my subconsciousness. I'm going to weigh up my options and take some time out. I may start my own business or become a 'gentleman of leisure' as you put it. I may immerse myself in learning various musical instruments as playing music is a passion of mine.

Other than that I'll be basically a house husband and my darling wife will reap the benefits. That's a full time job in itself.

Finish with purpose and the recent improved visions all over the pitch n I will be a happy beaver..yes any promotion would be financially stupid not to welcome but this squad is for two years time...
Not now...let it nurture n grow steadily!
 
Promotion of course, getting out of this crap division, seeing some decent players at LR, and probably most important for the club getting a season of big money and bigger parachute payments when we are relegated at the end of it. Unless of course we desperately spend on ageing has beens again in a doomed attempt to stay up, when we could end up in an even worse position.

Not going to happen.
 
I agree with 999s about being on the best street etc. But think we will be short of 6th place by about 8 points. All the best to 999s.

If our overall form is true to form, we'll be back cursing again by the end of the week so please continue to post positive comments and let's enjoy it for a few more days.

I said 14th but has already come to terms with the club's disaster
There hasn't been a proper plan for years so I would laugh if we did it because TF and the club would have to act in the same way as before and buy in a lot of players
I would want it to happen just because stupid things happen to stupid people
If it happened then they get their money back overnight in effect and if them I would sell ASAP
Just a QPR supporter so today of course I think we can do it. It really can be done because any team bar Burnley above us can bottle it

I am not however ever going to forget the Fulham game
