What's everybody's opinion on this? Personally I dont like to see square pegs put into round holes.

Not ideal, dont know Leon D probably most experienced at playing up top from what we have left but he really doesnt look like a striker to me, although maybe one of the more natural finishes we have fit.

In answer to your question though mate....i think Alese is quick & fit enough to play in goal, at the back & up top all at the same time<laugh>

Gareth Bale used to play at Left back.

Dion Dublin used to play CB and CF aswell haha.
Personally I'd like to see him stay in defence though. I dont think we're that desperate to start needing to play players out of position

Paul Warhurst is another example of a CB turned striker, Chris Sutton too, I think.

The fact that playing Alese up front is even being discussed definitively answers the question about whether or not we've been left short in that dept after the summer transfers. It's incredibly frustrating as the other business has been great.

Personally I would have stuck with the Man U kid and given him, Clarke n Roberts a run of games together.

Although highly unlikely yes I do think Alese could play upfront. Physical, intelligent, good control, either footed why not.

I would think about playing Alese in place of Evans on Saturday with Neil and Ba either side, if needed he could move further forward from central position much easier than out wide and we have plenty of cover at the back especially in Cirkin who should be ready to start this game. Wigan look a big strong team and we will have to match them in this respect from the off.

Is Alese good in the air, especially at scoring from crosses? If not I don't see the value in it, I don't think the lad can shoot well and he'd be a fish out of water in terms of being good at hold up play etc, you don't learn the trade overnight.

If anything I could see him in CM in the future, wherever he plays he's got a great future and it's a credit to him that he's being seen as good enough to play elsewhere when he's barely established in defence.
