Strangely enough, our best chance of a win may come at Newcastle. They are not doing well atm and have nothing to play for.
You could be right ,although their supporters aren't going to continue to be so forgiving if their poor form continues so at some point I expect a reaction ,hopefully not against us though.
Looking at the table and games left we shouldn't have a problem …… but it could still be close if we don't get at least 3 points. Here's my take on the remaining games for bottom 6 clubs: - Sunderland to play Everton 0 Manc 0 Chelsea 0 Cardiff 3 Man U 0 WBA 3 Swansea? - = 6 - 9 points (31 - 34 points) Cardiff play Soton 0 Stoke 3 Sunderland 0 Newcastle 1 Chelsea 0 = 4points (30 points) Fulham play Norwich 3 Spurs 0 Hull 3 Stoke 1 Palace 3 = 10 points (37 points) Norwich play Fulham 0 Liverpool 0 Man U 0 Chelsea 0 Arsenal 0 = 0 points (32 points) WBA play Spurs 0 Man C 0 WestHam 3 Arsenal 1 Sunderland 0 Stoke = 4 points (36 points) Us play Chelsea 0 Newcastle 0 Villa 3 Soton 1 Sunderland ? = 4 - 7 points (37 - 40 points) If correct (BIG IF) Swansea 37 (-40) Fulham 37 WBA 36 Relegated Norwich 32 Sunderland 31 (34 maybe but still down) Cardiff 30
Those are 3 quality teams though , best be on our guard against Newcastle . I can't see us not winning 2 games steve , 1 could be next game against an under pressure, travelling Chelsea team
Play like we did v Arsenal and it's possible Play like we did against Hull and our goal difference could take a hammering.
We haven't taken a big premier league scalp yet and Chelsea are looking pretty tasty right now, be heartbroken if we dont beat one "Big " Premier club this season
It's easy to say Norwich will lose their last 4 games, but in reality they will probably pick up a point/points somewhere - it's the nature of the game.
I have already said that one more win will seal it and it could be that we are already safe. Its possible as nobody can finish on the same points as us because of our superior goal difference. I think we will end up quite comfortable by 6 or 7 points from relegation and job done in a disappointing premiership season..
What planet are you on Breezy? 33 points was not enough, 36 points was though, Norwich got 33 points and are relegated!........................
On it's own no, but a team COULD still have stayed up on 33 points - that's the point. And I suspect Breezy in his OP was referring to Swansea staying up with 33 points and as we had a superior goal difference to all the other bottom teams then we WOULD have stayed up on 33 points. Stop being difficult
Ok you win aswan, and Breezy is right and I got it wrong, sorry Breezy should never have doubted your insight!..................
