Wagstaff is better than you thought and think he is.

    Perhaps Burns isn't match fit?
I think Cotterill is forced to play 3-5-2 due to the players we have in the squad.
If we go down he should go, if we stay up he should be given the freedom to build a new squad.
When Gary Johnson took over we were at the bottom of league 1, soon we were challenging to be promoted up to the premier league.

    Southampton, Norwich, Swansea,
All teams that have leaped into the Premier League with a hop, skip and a jump.

Unfortunately, the state we are in its far more likely we will end up fighting to stay a pro club at the bottom of Div2.
The ghost of Luton Town is hovering ....

Yes. But you weren't the only one.
You very loudly stated that we needed rid of Gary J in order to move forward.

    You were WRONG

We have collapsed in spectacular fashion - even the bookies have underestimated our demise.

All that you said was wrong with GJs side has been replaced.

We are now staring Div 4 in the face and feeling relieved when we beat Carlisle at home after going 1-0 down.

Yes, you are wrong - as we all are occasionally.

    SC is delboy in disguise.
Talks the talk, plenty of flannel, boys and girls the fat lady is starting up her vocal cords.
Another poor appointment by this board.
Money issues they have their selves to blame for where the club will be next season.
I have to say last night i really did not want to be in Ashton Gate, watching the team i have supported since a kid.
I am falling out of love with my club.
Season tickets continious for 15 years next year i really dont see us replacing them, this club needs to get its identity back.

I quite agree with some rotation, but 15 mins at the end of each game for Burns is not rotation, and too much rotation doesn't help for a settled side. We don't seem to have a settled squad yet.I thought El A was a central defender not a left sided "fullback" so still hope he works out. JET was better sitting in front of midfield and behind striker, Elliott, agree that will have to wait and see.Be interested to see how many players Brentford, Orient etc have used so far this season, and how much rotation they use.

Was concerned at first when he was first appointed- You only had to look at the Forest fans forum boards to think, what have we done?- Starts off well and still overall, his record is ok, but now being a bit too experimental, especially with the midfield. There is a danger in tinkering as Ranieri, and more locally, Mc Innes found.

Problem is our midfield is either inexperienced, past their best or simply not good enough. Whatever combination is used, we have to consider putting 5 in there just to compete.

I remember that we played 3-5-2 during John Wards promotion season. We won 12 home games on the trot. During that spell we used to go all out attack and have the game won in the first 20 minutes. Despite its success, it was reported that the players hated it. Maybe the same is happening now.

Its simple, when my boss gave me an instruction, whether I agreed, didn't like it or thought he was a twat, I got on with it and carried out my orders. Then I got paid, without any problem at the end of the month. Somehow, players these days cant seem to do the same.

No, GJ had to go as he was blinkered and out of his depth. We over achieved by a hefty margin in our first season in the CCC, we were never really good enough to go in to the Prem (a neutral goal difference for a top 6 side says it all). Also GJ stated at the time that he would give the team their chance in the Prem if we made it, can you imagine how bad we would have been?? I think Derby fans would have been glad as we would almost certainly have taken their unwanted record. The board surely knew this as they didn't really cough up the funds to cement that position, and we have paid ever since, and no amount of money now can change that as we have seen. Also GJ's signings were poor the following season, it was well documented at the time that we could not get any of our top targets, you have to ask why, as there should never have been a better time to sell the manger and the club, but he couldn't, perhaps the better players knew his style would not suit them, not everyone responds to a good cuffing and cursing session.

Do not get me wrong I really liked GJ, but he truly had gone as far as he could with us, and was in truth out of his depth. I would have him back with us now, as I believe he is a terrific L1 boss and we would not be where we are this season if he was in charge.

Well said and Johnson had to go. Plus he was a bully and we also rode our luck in a lot of games in that fisrt season in the CCC.

Supcon - Don't bother with R&W, he rarely watches City from his view in Swindon.

'I would have him back with us now, as I believe he is a terrific L1 boss'

Now Junior's retired GJ's a better bet than Cotterill.
However I don't think it's best to go back, we're just clutching at any straw that's out there.
    We're doomed.

LOL - you're addressing someone the other side of the world!

I don't watch as many games as I'd like (only Wolves away so far this season), but I've seen plenty over the 40+ years I have supported City. I have also played a fair bit, so I'm not completely clueless.

I am merely pointing out that some people thought that with GJ gone we would move forward. We haven't - FACT.

One thing we are in total agreement over - we are indeed doomed unless things start to click very soon.

I was able to see this from the start of the season and posted as such - which was received by sheer disbelief and ridicule by some on here.

It gives me no pleasure or satisfaction whatsoever to see my wise words coming true.

Which is precisely what we need now.
Sir Alex Fergusson, Brian Clough, George Graham were all well known as bullies, and although players would swear about them behind their backs, the best in the world would queue up around the block to play for them.

With some players only the heavy handed manager will do, and it seems that is the type of player we have here.

Gary Johnson was the best manager this club has had since AD, and subsequent results back that up.
You cant argue with the bare facts.

Nowadays if it's the manager or player, it's the manager.
I believe it was our sacking culture (bar Millen the 2nd time round) that got us into this mess.
If it's the player who goes rather than the manager then the players will get complacent and not perform to the best of their abilities.
