I suppose he's been let off to show players like Costa that their antics won't be tolerated and result in others being punished for it.

If this happened more often, players like Costa would be anything more than nobodies and tbh, Costa wouldn't be a footballer because he offers almost nothing else.

If they try and call it 'sexist' they're ****ing moronic, he didn't single her out, he called his medical team 'impulsive and naive' the woman AND the man. Of course the chauvanistic and incredibly dense believe women should be protected against such foul mouthed abuse as being called 'impulsive and naive', and the perpetrators of such a villainous attack should be hung drawn and quartered.
Sensible people see this as a nothing event blown out of proportion by a sensationalistic media and a moronic public on their usual witch hunt.

She has played it for all it's worth, as I knew she would.
If it was just his post-match interview, then I'd agree with you completely.
He got caught on camera calling her a "filha da puta", which means daughter of a whore, apparently.
I'd guess that he was just venting and wasn't actually being sexist, but it makes the whole thing harder for him to defend legally.

Rooney's going to spend the rest of the season being kicked from pillar to post, then.
He's elbowed about half the league now, hasn't he?
As for Fellaini...

3 game ban for Costa. He's a marked man now, refs won't be sucked into his cheating. Not sure what use he's going to be to Mourinho now.

can not see any logic in it ... once you raise your foot like he did on the sly ..well its red all day long ... dosent matter what the hells went on before .

just shows how corrupt this game really is ..
one rule for one and one rule for another ..what aboot the flying elbow the week before aswell

Rooney has had some of the most laughable bans in football history. He's always been a target.

Fellaini, people shouldn't be so short. Sometimes fouls are given against him because he is stronger that the opponent and they just bounce off him.

Both have had their moments mind and both have suffered many red cards. Costa and Suarez have barely seen a red card have they not? That's a joke in all honesty.

I would gladly see some players receive a kicking. Drogba was one and when Evans kicked him in th e midriff, it was a good thing.

Im sure many have enjoyed when Rooney gets a taste of his own or when Gerrard did.

All four of them should be sent off on a regular basis. They're all as dirty as ****.

I read something after the Chelsea v Arsenal game that suggested that Costa and Suarez haven't been sent off since 2010.
Given that the latter's been suspended for about 8m games in that time, that's an utterly ridiculous situation.

Tell me more about this targeting of Rooney, though. Sounds... interesting?
Was he targeted by Mark Clattenburg when he elbowed James McCarthy, for example?
Not only refused to send him off at the time, but doubled down and said that he made the right decision after viewing the video.

It's a good job that Clattenburg's never given any other controversial decisions in Utd's favour though, eh?
He might miss out on games like Southampton's victory over you last weekend, where he correctly gave them a penalty and chalked off Martial's goal.

Clattenburg is an idiot. He favours nobody but himself, he's the guy who gave Liverpool 3 penalties at OT. One of which was probably right, the other two.... Well...

Rooney has got away with plenty too but he's also been reprimanded for some laughable things. Swearing in front of the camera for one. Its never happened before or since despite being done in almost every game. Rooney is also one of just a handful banned for a pre season red card (scholes another) I cannot recall another player being punished in the same was, Gerrard was sent off pre season and missed no games.

The stat re Costa and Suarez is unbelievable isn't it. How is it even possibly? I btmet they've missed a season between then in the time yet never been shown a red..mindbogglingly.

I'm no Rooney fan but going back 4 years to find an example of why he should be sent off every week is a bit desperate.

As for daft suspensions, I do recall him getting a ban for being sent off in a pre season game and for swearing when celebrating a goal. I would say both unprecedented but Scholes was also banned for being sent off in a pre season game! Gerrard wasn't as the FA changed the rules!

EDIT: basically what UIR said!

Costa's 3 match ban and Gabriel let off.

Classic wumming from the FA <laugh>

In all honesty, the Gabriel and Costa situation should be viewed separately. I'm surprised that Gabriel has had his red card rescinded (but pleased obviously)

Costa got his 3 match ban for slapping Koscielny in the face, completely appropriate course of action. <ok>

You must share his laptop live from Old Trafford on match day then as both of you are constant in the game thread during each and every home fixture. Season ticket holder my aris.

I'm not a season ticket holder. No need to pretend other wise and nor do I.

Nor are you mind, infact there's barely a ST holder on this site.

He's like a United fan parody.
