Is it rotting? I visited for an event at the cadets part, which looked good but only saw that bit (maybe free wine helped…)
Yep. Most of it has literally been left abandoned. What were nice grounds are now wild & overgrown. Buildings derelict. Just the cadets bit around the main entrance and the big hangers heading out toward Kirkburn that have been used for industry. Shame. But like several areas of Driff, simply left to rot (Cattle Market, Wood Yard, Bell Mills <ex Rex Club as some may remember>, Post Office). Hopefully development is finally coming for all those long, long derelict sites and the town might finally move forward.
We used to pick up a bloke(Bob)from the old officers quarters on Driff camp during my trips down and return journeys to the K.C on Cyril and Dave Ruggs mini bus. Sadly the vast majority of those who travelled on that bus are no longer with us and Dave now travels by car with one of his nephews. P.S..I've still got my late Mothers 'Rex Club' membership card.
What sort of spanners do you take us for. I download the half hourly data from a 3rd party provider free of charge and visualise it in something like PowerBi like a normal person would.
