No I would not, all that I am saying is his info is flawed. I don't believe he would make things up no, but the info given him was obviously flawed he repeated and possibly even added to it as that suites his line of thinking is what I believe.........
LeTissier isn't betraying the club, he simply sees things differently. And just because you were a great player, doesn't mean you are qualified to be a chairman. Cortese can be ruthless and definitely has strong ideas. In some cases, perhaps that's necessary and in some cases it may hurt. And it could be that the right person to bring us up from League One is not the right person to succeed in the Premier League. That goes for all of players and staff. I am not sure what needs to be done, and I doubt any of us fans ever will be. The thing is, it can't be everyone's fault always doing everything wrong all the time. By simple virtue of the fact that if Cortese calls the shots, you can't blame Adkins and vice versa. Similarly, if the club has financial constraints, then they can be justified in not spending as much money as you would have liked. Either they had the money and bought poorly, or they have no money. If the defenders are just bad, the tactics can't be to blame. If the tactics are the problem, maybe the defense isn't really that bad. No one brings in 7 defenders in one transfer window. That would be very difficult to do and moreover foolish. It's quality of defenders we lack, not quantity. Two smart CB purchases is all that was needed, plus Clyne. Essentially you are picking fault with every last thing because Saints do not have the perfect manager, coach, and 22 World Class players. If you could actually coalesce your myriad of complaints and conspiracy theories into ONE logical storyline and suggest a solution then maybe people would take you more seriously. You think you're being picked on because everyone is too optimistic but in fact they are mostly just pointing out you don't know what you're talking about and very little of what you say makes sense.
I have told it word for word , it was obvious he does not get on with the current owners but he did not call them anything , his strongest words was against Adrian Durham who he called an absolute prick , no I believe him when it comes to the Saints .
well, well, well fella. Afterall the Happy Clapper name calling and telling us we're sheep, it turns out you are a happy clapper of sorts and a sheep. Le Tiss speaks and you nod and bow. Blimey. He is a legend to me, however anything he says about the current running of our club I would take with a huge pinch of salt because he has is too emotionally involved in the Le Tiss V Cortese stuff to have an objective view. Put your sandals on, you Le Tiss Happy Clapper.
What prospective manager would want to come here, if he was told he wouldn't be responsible for picking the team? Can you be more specific about your traitorous source? There is a horses head being made ready.
Picking the team or not, how do people feel about his involvement in some of the transfers, particulary those out of Italy, Papa Waigo, Guly, Ramirez, (and possibly the Japanese lads too) because of the marketing opportunities? Cortese or Adkins signing these players? I'm out the loop in China so I am not saying it is either one or the other, just want to know all your thoughts...
It did cross my mind that having spent 7 million on J Rod Cortese would want him in the side after all once you shell out this kind of wedge on a player all and sundry would question why he is a benchwarmer.I am happy that we bought the guy as he is young and is one for the future but right now and as its been for the last two seasons Ricky is our best striker and should play.It may not be that Cortese is picking the side but Nigel could be feeling pressured into thinking he has to play a guy who the club has invested so largely in.Pressure can seriously muddle the mind
I think your last sentence is the issue. NA is just making poor calls at times when last season they worked!. That's down to lack of PL experience. He's a quick learner though and will get there!
Oh Christ , not the learning bit , I wonder if Rodgers , Martinez , Lambert have ever used that belter ?
Or rather he has contacts in Italy, meaning he can get decent players for a decent rate (ok Papa wasn't great but Guly certainly was good enough for L1 and Champ, and Ramirez is good enough). The two Japanese players are obviously down to our excellent scouting system, and if you knew about current football, you would know Japan's national team could be World Cup contenders in a couple of years. They ain't marketing opportunities.
Think Nigel has input into player purchases, but no more than that. He would definitely have got defenders in, but negotiations out of his hands. He did however state quite firmly that team selection was down to him and only him, so he is aware what is being said.
Ok say I believe that (I dont) then Cortese has to held accountable for a ****e transfer window and Adkins has to held accountable for ****e selections , tactics and substitutions ? That seems very fair to me .
Again a sweeping statement we spent the 5th highest in the window. OK yes we could have done with a couple more defenders. As afr a s NA goes jhe has made it clear he fully accepts the blame for our poor results.
Cortese is responsible for signings though some things will be out of his control. We should have signed Buttner...not saying he's the greatest player in the world but he must be okay if United signed him. I understand Nicola's stance about not paying money that wasn't mentioned up front, but sometimes taking the moral high ground can cost you in the end. On the other hand, Ramirez seemed to become an obsession. As for team selection, I believe Nigel because he could have said nothing and let the Chairman take the media flak.
Then he should (I dont agree with) expect the sack . If we go down , will Cortese get the boot for showing a lack of ambiton and a lack of quality signings ? No he wont , Adkins can only put the **** out in front of him , that must hurt , it hurts more being a patsie and know the persons who bought the players wont get sacked but you will .
Why do you want this thread locked ? Even tyranny spreads onto here , you dont worked for the SFC press office do you ?
Surely we have a lot to debate yet.......If the debate is not for you just don't bother to read the thread in the first place. Cortese is responsible for any failings on the recruitment side he is the only one to decide if we can or can't afford a player. It is of course Nigels job to target players and to asses whether they would fit into his team. As he has said at the end of the day IT is his responsibility........ He is not looking for excuses whether the team didn't play to his instructions or whether they are just not up to it, there is no hiding place. He has to take the rap....all this bull **** saying he isn't picking the team suggest to me that excuses are being made as to why we are not winning. The excuse being it isn't Nigels fault he has to pick who he is told to pick......sorry this won't wash. NA has clearly heard some of the bull**** that is going around hence his remark on Solent......."I pick the team, ultimately it is my decision and my responsibility" He clearly knows the pressure his job must be under hence his reply to another question....."How long do you think you will be given to put things right"? "I've no idea" Which was sharp and to the point. Those three words on there own speak a whole volume..............
They do , even NA which should stand for not available is does not know , the halls in St Marys are getting just that bit darker .
That is very fair, if it is all correct. I don't think the transfer window was ****e. We were just one/two defenders away from it being excellent. Adkins is trying different things that so far haven't worked and not brought us the points we'd have liked. I still want us to stand by him. He is appearing to try things. I bet you'd have moaned if he just picked the same 11 each time with the same results.
