Am I happy with Adkins selection?. I would have liked Lambert to start but that is just me, i'm not a football manager so have no idea what Adkins is thinking. Will the selection work?. Well I thought we would lose even before this selection, but I hope i'm proved wrong.

I strongly disagree with this lineup choice as well. Maybe it works out, and I'll be proven wrong. But why would this indicate Cortese is choosing the team? Cortese approves the transfers, and Saints have been buying attackers as you have been moaning about all season. So it makes no sense that if Cortese was trying to play attacking football against Adkins' wishes that he would suddenly put out a defensive team. Moreover, Jay Rodriguez has not been particularly effective at defense or possession. And Do Prado has been at Saints for ages. If Cortese loved him so much, we wouldn't have bought some many strikers and midfielders. You would think that if Cortese were dictating the team he would insert Mayuka since that Saints bought him and haven't been using him that much. Also, Lambert was in the side when Saints gave up two late goals to Man City. Of course, Lambert also put Saints up by a goal. They were down 1-0 without Lambert at half-time, and they finished down 3-2 with Lambert. So not really sure how the Do Prado or the absence of Lambert changed that game. I think that Adkins is trying to put on a team that-- while it may lack a little goal scoring ability-- has better ball possession/work rate abilities. I don't think it makes sense personally, but it doesn't lead me to suspect there is a conspiracy at play.
Your reply has given nothing new to this conversation , why am I deluded in saying this is a poor selection is beyond me , its my opinion and if you dont like it go and whistle .
The reason I say this is Cortese's selection is because LeTissier said he was told that on the first game against City Corteese picked the team or had a large influence on it , I believe him as that is not a footballing decesion to make a 4-6-0 .

Barry....for goodness sake you know Cortese doesn't pick the team....Just remember it is Adkins ass that is on the line if the team do not start picking up. I would agree it is hard to understand why Adkins would leave out his leading scorer, however he is paid to make decisions like this. If he gets it wrong too many more times we all know what eventually will happen. Cortese will still be there........and no he doesn't pick the team......that is total nonsense!!!
