I wonder if he genuinely thinks he is? There's a chance he genuinely thinks Cortese is poisoning the club and he wants to turn the fanbase against Cortese so the Liebherrs drop him, so his persistent moaning is an attempt to convince public opinion to shift. He might not be a bitchy moany child, but instead someone who thinks they're acting for the greater good.
You may be right......I just cannot see that from his prospective he would try and turn a fan base against Cortese, it is in no ones interest. He would gain nothing from Cortese's demise. He might get a bit of satisfaction maybe after their tiff but it would be short lived and a bit childish don't you think.
I certainly do think it's childish and petty - I was just thinking of possible justifications for Le Tiss acting like this, and the only one I could think of was that it was his way of trying to force Cortese out of the club because he honestly thinks it's for the best. Let's be fair though, it's probably just a petty personal feud.
Clearly, the Le Tiss-Cortese feud that is kept going by various parties, seems to be polarising opinion amongst the fanbase. Most posters here appear to realise that if one or the two stopped tweeting his opinions on the other, the whole issue would probably die, due to lack of interest. However, I think its becoming damaging among a grown few, who would think to undermine the club for their own ends [incredible as that must seem]. I do wonder whether it might be a reasonable move to write to both Matt and Nicola, to ask them if there is a way for them to reach some sort of accord. I can begin to imagine the response. Matt would probably just like to be treated in a similar manner to how he was treated before the Liebherr takeover. Nicola would possibly think that the feud is just a boil on the bum and one that he can ignore. But this particular boil could fester, and I think, maybe doing so right now. What do people think..? I don't like the fashion of the open letter. I would want the people involved to know, but quietly, so as not to draw attention. This is a relatively small storm in a teacup, and I don't want to make too much of it. But one of Saints former heroes is unhappy, and that means there is a possibility that we are not being as positive towards SFC as we might be [I am, but others are possibly not], and that Southampton FC might not be seen in the most positive of lights.
Le Tissier did do and would do. However would Le Tissier have been capable of turning SFC from L1 --> PL with a JPT win in the process as the club has done under 3 years of Cortese's chairmanship? I doubt it. Cortese has done lots for the club, if you can't see that I would be very surprised.
The man who very sadly went upstairs money did lots for this club , I am not denying Cortese has done his bit , I think now he is aver playing his bit by selecting the team , I think Adkins is a patsie .
You think? I don't suppose there is a shred of evidence for this assertion, and yet you have chosen to make it on several threads today. Try some other bait tomorrow and see if you get better bites! In an ideal world, most of us would love to see Matt and NC shake hands and both be on the bus. Sadly, it's not likely. Fortunately, NC doesn't care and Matt's opinions will not change the way the club is run. I am comfortable with that.
Tbh there is no Saints fans that would be so convinced at any of this nonsense. So I think it is quite obvious now that it is a wumming attempt. And one that he is set on trying to bring down on the club. Please bore off.
Le Tiss gets a fair bit of stick off me on here, but I thought it was only reasonable to post something good that I saw on Twitter: please log in to view this image Good show Matt.
Yeah, he schooled Rachel Riley. I think LeTissier truly believes Cortese is a problem and that he needs to speak out. I doubt he would issue controversial statements like that just for kicks, especially when he's still got a prominent TV gig. But it's probably also true that he can no longer be objective considering the history between the two so his remarks need to be taken with a grain of salt.
