The really encouraging thing about yesterday was that those players coming in really put forward their case for a starting place week in/week out! No-one let the side down and all gave 100%. It must be incredibly encouraging for Brendan now he knows he can rest key players and not worry about the players taking their places. Monk had been out for a while and performed magnificently yesterday - Dyer was also excellent - think he needs to start games as it doesn't seem to work when he is brought on as a substitute.

Joe Allen, an ever present this season, was superb - but feel he will have to be rested tomorrow; he ran his heart out and can't see him recovering in time for Villa (saying that though - was watching his work on and off the ball and the guy is tireless - really thought he would need to be subbed in the second half, but he just kept on running the length of the pitch; attacking one minute, helping out in defense the next). Gower was also hard working but had to be substituted as, like Joe, he had run his legs off.

Kemy was a touch of class - brilliant in attack one minute, and then running half the length of the pitch to disposess Bale on the edge of our box. Think he should definitely start tomorrow, he gives us a bit of muscle to go with his undoubted skill. Luke Moore had a very good game; a few things he did didn't come off, but could see what he was trying to do! Can't understand the 'lazy' tag he picked up at his previous teams because he really put a shift in for us yesterday.

In fact every player can be proud of their contribution. I would also like to mention the crowd who were magnificent again, a little quiet at the start of the second half due to the sucker punch at the end of the first - but soon recovered and really got behind the team. The noise that greeted Scotties equalizer was immense and didn't falter as we all tried to will the team onto a winner. Was the best performance I've seen at the Liberty this season and walking out of the ground at the end of the match there was a real 'buzz' in the air.

This was the first time this season we have come from behind to take something from a game and think it will give the squad a lot of confidence - especially as it was against the Premier League's form team. We now need to take that confidence and belief into our remaining games; if we do then we will be fine - we have been guilty of giving some teams a little too much respect this season, but I think it is beginning to sink in that we are here on merit and have no reason to be frightened of any team in this division.

I was so proud walking from the stadium yesterday and, when thinking of the position we were in just a few years ago, had to pinch myself - if the Swans story of the last ten years was made into a Hollywood film, people would criticise it for being too far fetched; that is how far we have come!

kidderz, I didn't take it as such. I was just trying to underline the general perception that, unless you have been a professional player or associated with a club, you are not qualified to comment on aspects of the game. Imo, that is bollox. There are many valid and perceptive opinions expressed on this forum and many others.

Mind you, you seem to have outed Phil!

It goes to show that we do have players that can put in a good shift and not be overawed by the super stars of the opposition. the side that started yesterday may not suit against other sides and that comes down to Brendan the manager as its his job to work out who is best suited to face the opposition....full credit to brendan and all the players who took part yesterday.......

Absolutely Dai! Brendan has assembled a squad who will all put themselves on the line for the team - I hear it was one of the main reasons Rory Donnelly chose us over the Merseyside millionnaires 'great squad spirit and no ego's' - says it all really - we got promoted because we played as a team - not a collection of overpaid superstars - we will continue to succeed because we play as a team!

when i heard the team selection i immediatly thought he was writing the game off and resting some boys for Villa, but it was clear thhat the selection was positive and forward thinking,by design or default there were some combinations that looked like they could reap rewards, the subs came on at the right times too DG looks a right handfull coming off the bench where Luke moore seems to thrive on the confidence of a starting position, plenty of food for thought though.

We could have put anyone out there , the most important thing was that Buck turned the attack loose for a change . It was written all over Williams's play during the game . Poor Spurs , there didn't know what hit them .

"Kemy- Sorry but i think Kemy has earned the right to start games now, his go forward was instrumental in us coming into the game, he has the arrogance on the ball and beleives he should be sharing the stage with the worlds best! thats the attitude we need and have been lacking, kemy brought the positive vibes when he came on."

Agree totally Norway. can't believe some people were saying he wasn't up to much when he came to us.

Kemy did well when he first came, then got injured in pre season and struggled to make any impact after that , indeed as i said to you before he was nothing special,so much so that he ended up at crystal palace on loan,,like ive always said brenden knows who is putting it in and who isnt ,last season kemy was not putting it in ,this summer with a full pre season training in place he looked like the player buck signed on the dutch pre season tour, he has worked hard and is starting to be ingeral to us in this division now, another great performance today by him .

Talent alone is not enough, you need to have the desire and application as well kemy has shown that this season,he didnt last season, the same can be said of Luke moore , he is showing up very well for us lately and is putting in a good shift.
