I think from what I see, the future will not have cards, much the same as todays generation is doing away with cash, in another fifty+ years they will probably both be obsolete (cash & cards) - does that mean we will transfer everything to our phone, no I don't think so, currently I unlock my banking with my finger print - so I don't need passwords or any other log in details, they will just need to transfer that same technology into retailers, and countries like Japan or China are probably already doing/using it. Eyes or facial recognition is just another form like finger prints of unlocking stuff, I don't know which method is the more secure, which ever one it is probably will be the progress. Banking will be completely digital in the future, I can see it being abused turned into government credits for things such as pensions, benefits, travel - so x amount of credits for food, credits for medicine, credits for clothes, credits for travel, I just know the digital system is going to be abused by those in power, there will be no turning back to cash or cards, we will be under the complete control of the government and the financial sector (sorry guys, I did warn you). Don't be surprised if we see people chipped in the hands. It's hard to know what devices will be around (such as phones) because things change too quick, I can't see beyond phones at the moment, but let's not forget 50 years ago, we didn't even have this technology to even contemplate it.
