We all are, it gets hard to stay vigilant so long...

Keeping an eye on this Deltacron variant though. Some poor sod had Delta and Omicron at same time and the variants exchanged RNA Don't know if it's going to be a deadend like the IHU variant or be the next major wave. Don't know how easy it spreads, maybe not much, but early evidence is it has a very high hospitalization rate. So a really scary one to get. May be worst so far. There again some doctors doubt that it even exists... Guess we'll find out soon.

Good news is,.anyone who has had Omicron may be protected.

No real proof of contamination though, and Israel had also found cases of it now too. So would need to be contamination in two countries. Possible I suppose. Although the proximity of Cypress and Israel means it's a natural neighbour to hop to.

It's a wait and see game.

“Deltacron is not real and is likely due to sequencing artefact (lab contamination of Omicron sequence fragments in a Delta specimen),” tweeted Dr Krutika Kuppalli, an infectious diseases researcher with the World Health Organisation.

Also responding to the scare was Dr Tom Peacock of Imperial College London.

“The Cypriot ‘Deltacron’ sequences reported by several large media outlets look to be quite clearly contamination - they do not cluster on a phylogenetic tree and have a whole Artic primer sequencing amplicon of Omicron in an otherwise Delta backbone,” the virologist tweeted.

“Delta sequences with strange mutations in amplicon 72 have been turning up for ages (for example Delta + Mu NTD insertion) however, they always show this non-monophyletic pattern and are nearly always more easily explained by this primer issue exacerbating very low-level contam.”

This Government couldn't even organise a piss up in the garden :bandit:

I think they've got Boris on this one, a party the same day they were locking us down and only allowed to meet one person outside.

Some of the other parties I could over look, and say many people broke the rules - but this time, the timing is going to piss a lot of people off, even I can't be arsed to defend him/them on this one.

I would like to know the name though of every person that attended that party, just so they can give an account for themselves, on whether it not not cross their mind it was morally wrong if nothing else.

Think this could be the one that broke the camels back and I don't say this stuff lightly.

I'm very lucky...none of my family or friends died of covid.

But I went 4 months without seeing my eldest daughter. That's nothing compared to losing a loved one but it was **** and stressful.

My youngest daughter ended up having treatment delayed. She was diagnosed in January 2020 but her treatment was delayed because of covid until December 2020. This is still causing serious health problems for her 13 months on and there is no end in sight.

I went to work throughout, travelling to other schools to work with our kids who couldn't travel. This meant walking 5 miles to get there (I don't drive and didn't trust the buses or trains). It was stressful as **** tbh.

My very close mate's son had hospital treatment delayed and it turned out he had cancer, which is now terminal. He is 17 yrs old ffs.

Those politicians and cicil servants or other staff who attended this and other parties are not responsible for covid or these effects but the double standards make them ****s.

I ain't a hateful person so won't say I wish Johnson had died from covid but these ****s should absolutely be prosecuted.

I had it pretty easy compared to others so **** knows how angry others are.

Absolute ****ing piss take mate

Anybody doing that during that period where everybody else had to make sacrifices would make them a ****, but the fact that it is the ****ing PRIME MINISTER doing it, is simply unforgivable.

I make no secret that I think Boris is a twat, for numerous reasons. But this is just beyond the pale.

He needs to go.

Should be interesting Prime Ministers question time in the Commons tomorrow, but no idea what time.

Boris is going to get ripped to bits, I can't see a way out for him now, unless he says he wasn't there, but you can guarantee Cummings is holding all the ace cards and probably has a picture of him there.

As the gobby one said (Angela) on the Labour party front bench today, you can run but you can't hide. I think they've got him unless he flat out deny's it, I don't see any apology saving him.

20th in 2020 was a Wednesday, and it was that following Monday the 25th I had to isolate for a whole month. So I remember how severe that lockdown was then.

Being PMQs do youthink anyone will ask any serious questions about actual problems like rising food and fuel prices?

The Tories will brazen it out as they have no choice.

Boris can be thrown to the wolves later if necessary but admitting guilt now would cost them too much.

I don't particularly care about Boris now. My future focuses are on what party is going to actively do something about knife crime, to stop our kids killing one another and what are they going to do about fuel prices, because at the moment I just see being green as a burden the poor can't afford. Neither Labour or the Tories are showing me anything postive down this road. Obviously the usual issues of the NHS.

Forget the knife crime mate (in London anyway), 30 Black kids killed by Black kids yet if you SAS Black kids at a higher rate than White you are racist.
Some times certain demographics have to be targeted because that is where the problem lies. Can be uncomfortable but unfortunately true.

I'm fed up with browsing through the local rags and reading about knife crime, weekly, even if someone wasn't killed. It's not just a London problem or a black kid problem.
