Over the weekend the BBC had their main headline article as 'OMICRON COULD KILL 75,000 SAYS STUDY' and yet the third paragraph in the actual article stated that there were questions over the modelling and many scientists disagree.

****ing fear mongering ****s. Media have a lot to answer for with this covid **** imo.
Media are part of the racket mate.

And right you are they have a lot to answer for but you need only to look a few posts up to see what answers you will get from the media.

"whats important is that we scare everyone to death, make sure that you forget the **** that happened last week and get brexit/omnicron done"

The reason Boris and co look like incompetent ****wits that haven't got a clue when it comes to covid, is because of exactly that.

The Virus is real though, despite how a bunch of corrupt old Etonians and their hangers on make a dogs dinner of managing it.

If you want reliable info, go to the CDC or John Hopkins website's and bypass the BS that the Tories make up.

No one is saying the virus isn't real, that's why most of us are double jabbed and have toed the line.

The objection is to the current situation whereby we are more or less being told to get a booster or our liberties are taken away from us again, that is what is really starting to grate.

Because of - insert made up mutation here.

I agree. Like you i've had all my jabs and I'm on the side of the Tory Steve Baker, who has said about the 'creating of a miserable dystopia.' - we are allowing ourselves to head into, that's if we haven't already, an authoritarian world for those that can afford the vaccinations.

I just think people are weary from having restrictions imposed on them, so naturally there’s resistance when more are mooted.

That coupled with the inept ****wittery of Boris and co, along with their pompous hypocrisy flouting the very rules they impose, and it’s inevitable more and more people are just going to **** it all off

The virus of course, pays no attention to any of this ****housery and side show theatrics

The ones for me are - threat of lockdown. Why should I? I'm double jabbed, soon to be boosted, why the **** should I be put in a lockdown?

The other is - if i travel outside of the country, why do I have to potentially isolate when I get back? What is in France that isn't already rife here anyway? Answer, **** all.
Plus, double jabbed etc. etc. etc. so why do I have to pay for a test pre departure and on return, when free issue lateral flows have been accepted up to this point? Why am I having to shell out, just so I can get out of this country and then back in again? I think we all know why, so they can **** right off.

None of the above makes sense, I'm not a mug and neither are a good deal of the population, so there will be some considerable push back to all this ****e if/when they try to impose it.

There’s a ton of inconsistencies in all of it, and the Govt’s own behaviour has highlighted the hypocrisy.

I don’t see why LFT’s can’t be used across the board instead of any restrictions. I think they are doing this in places like Portugal, and it seems most are just getting on with it

the main reason for restrictions it seems is to try and prevent a surge of hospital admissions, and it seems from early studies that omicron isn’t as severe as delta, although it is more transmissible.

Of course hospitals being overwhelmed also comes down to them being woefully understaffed, which is another issue, but one that the Govt have created.

The people going into hospital would be unvaccinated though so................................................................

Again, my own personal liberties restricted to 'protect' people who haven't been vaccinated, ultimately. The knock on is the NHS, although they are always busy in winter and this shouldn't be a surprise that they are again now.

Not buying it, soz. None of this bollocks adds up to anyone prepared to stop and give it 30 seconds thought.

Well we will find out today, what restrictions are being implemented as it's being put to the vote in four parts tonight, so I assume four votes for each MP. I know...

1. is masks, 2. all NHS staff jabbed, 3. passports, and I think the other is 4. mandatory jabs.

I agree with masks first and foremost, because it is of no inconvience to anyone, I'm undecided on NHS employees so probably would not vote on that if I was an MP, I am against the other two.

So my votes would be: 1. for, 2. abstain, 3. against, 3. against.

I'd like to see how each MP voted on every part, they will publish the votes in the media I expect.

I know Labour will vote for the measures, but what I'm unclear on, is that all four.

I might have one of these wrong, the mandatory vaccinations, it might be 'isolation rules.'

I'd need to know more information before deciding on this one.

Largely, yes.

So just playing devils advocate here (because it’s not a measure I agree with) but would compulsory vaccination therefore keep hospitalisation rates at a manageable level ?

That goes against the very grain of those who will be voting against any restrictions, but it would allow those who are vaccinated to have more freedoms

I've added a poll, you have four votes, vote for only those that you agree with.

I have voted for

Facemasks
passes (but I think these should be limited to negative tests)
Isolation (presuming this means isolation following a positive test)

I’m not in favour of compulsory vaccinations, but I do think people should get them.

Same here mate. I'm triple jabbed so I don't understand why I have to do this. It's the anti vaxxers that should be restricted.
