Yep...me and some mates were offended it weren't being called wintermas so got it banned... a load of thick ****s are outraged about it on twitter the last time I check :bandit:

Oh right, didn't know people were complaining over it - I was thinking more due to the virus.

I do remember when I use to go to the states that it was always 'Happy Holidays' wtf is that about?

I'm not religious, but I was brought up in being packed off to Sunday School, probably more to get rid of me for the day or was it just a morning, can't remember - and I went to a CofE school, but then didn't everyone back in the day.

Went to midnight mass in Germany, does that count as religious, it went well until the priest tried to put something in my mouth at the end of the service.

Wafer! you disgusting animals.

Tbf to the gov. When Corona gets really bad, my Job along with other security people is to very strictly enforce 1 meter rules and sitting in bars and such.

We have piss ups all the time

Went to midnight Mass on Xmas eve 1983 ish... the girl I was with at the time had to go with her parents and she begged me to go with her (I thought it was well weird as we were 16 or ) ...but boy, was I well rewarded by her afterwards...and her parents thought we were being good Christians <laugh>

Have never actually met anyone who objects to Christmas but social media is full of ****ing idiots say **** like "no one will stop me saying happy Christmas "
More weird **** brought by Facebook and Twitter nutters <laugh>

On a similar(ish) theme to remembercolinlee i went to midnight service in Jerusalem with a bunch of pretty devout folk . Now i'm an atheist and have been since quite young however i had an enjoyable time as it became clear the Bishop was to put it delicately pissed as a newt . Quite quickly outright laughter broke out and suddenly the Bishop was subbed off injured <laugh>

I'd assume this link will be accepted on here as it's not a 'tory rag' and therefore can be believed;

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/dec/09/cdc-chief-omicron-mild-early-data-us-spread-variant

But our hospitals are full or something and there are people on waiting lists and, er, pressure.

Like they always ****ing are then.

Yeah it's an anti tory rag, @Archers Road bible.

I ocasionally check it to see what the latest ramblings are. They sometimes have Rachel Shabi who I think still writes for them, on the late night SKY paper reviews.

I think what was being said on the tv yesterday, that it will increase hospital admissions, hence putting strain on the system, although those admissions are unlikely to require a tube down the neck - not those words but something like that. Something to do with it being transmissable in 2 days instead of 7.

If I'm wrong, I'm wrong, don't really give that much of a shhite tbph.

Back to working at home full time until Easter has just been given to me. What a ****ing result this is!

be able to see the boy more and not lose 1.5 hrs a day commuting.

Yeah members of my family started working from home again. Like you say, it saves that commute into the City.

Mine is a commute to an out of town industrial estate. But if in the big cities/crowded areas it reduces numbers on public transport and reduces infection/transmission rates then it’s great.

just the extra time in bed is a bonus for me!

The Mrs. Used to be very religious, she's agnostic now. Her family is very religious still. (This is the States after all)

I remember one year going to this big megachurch for Xmas eve service with them that they dragged me to. All this message of "peace love and good will to man" then when it was over everyone quickly dashed for their cars.

Several hundred or more people all trying to exit the parking lot at once. Honking at each other, cutting each other off, no one letting anyone else in. (All at about 2am on Xmas morning at this point... People living nearby must love that church).

My wife's family was not happy that I was amused by this and the hypocrisy of "peace love and goodwill" only lasting until the carpark.

Was this a Christmas midnight mass? You could've gone to the one and only original Bethlehem one.
