I've not paid much attention tbf, do we know how many had their employment terminated?
I only know one carer who's not jabbed and they're still working. Playing the 'refusal to acknowledge' card. Which is exactly what I'll do should the situation require it.
his / her employer is meant to have checked and unless they are exempt terminated their employment and yes this has happened which is one reason hospitals have even more patients than normal in who can't be discharged as their required care isn't available in the community .
Fair enough. Like I say I don't know enough people in the industry to know much detail really.
Would be interesting to see some figures though and whether that 'meant' has been put into practice.
Care not being available in the community is one of the biggest factors of NHS pressure and has been for years. Unfortunately nobody wants to pay for it so don't see it improving. Different subject though!
like all these things some will be stricter than others for various reasons .
I think most (employers/gov) are, probably rightly, assuming that the vast majority of people will either say "fine I'll get the jab" or "fine I'll leave" which means they don't have to do anything.
It's those that do neither and pretend it's not happening where it won't be quite as straightforward imo.
Weirdly I was really rough after my 2nd jab (3 days in bed) but only had a slight dead arm and tiredness for a day after my booster!2-4 days in bed is the norm after the booster jab

for the Care Homes they will need to be on the ball as it is unlawful for an unvaccinated worker to be on the premises unless medically exempt and presumably could themselves face sanctions but obviously the care sector is not the poor relation oh no

Literally women and kids dying in the sea off our shores, and these ****s think they are entitled to stop the emergency workers from doing their jobs. Should have been arrested and charged under the emergency workers obstruction act.
they would not be covered by the act as they are not "workers" but volunteers and tbh i doubt it would have occurred to anyone that they needed to be included .
I don't know the story behind that one, but there are some things to consider. The lifeboats operate on charitable donations, the people that operate them work for free or a very small sum of money - they have to leave their places of work, on call, to operate them.
In Dover they were being used alongside Border control, who don't have enough boats. IF the government want to use the RNLI on a regular basis to support Border Control, then they need to be paying for the use of the boats, and covering any lost wages of the crew.
We received upto 1,200 crossed in one day this year, around 23,000 for the year, this would keep the RNLI in Dover busy full-time, so we need to get some perspective in this, especially as the crossings have led to deaths and are supporting organised crime.
You live in Cornwall so it's easy for you to get angry because your lovely beach pictures never show any landings of refugees. A lot of the refugee's could end up homed in London, a place you left for your seclusion.
I don't agree with blocking any boats.

I agree that in effect Border force are using the RNLI to do their job and therefore some form of reimbursement is required and urgent upgrade to Border Force .
Have to admit "the taking back control of our borders" rhetoric always made me laugh as we had cut border force so much that we no longer even counted how many people were entering / leaving UK never mind who they were .
lol, I knew you’d make it about Cornwall v Kent/London. So if I still lived in London would that make my point any less valid ? Because I’d still feel the same way about it
That said, I do agree that more LA’s need to do more and help with the housing situation. At the moment it’s actually Glasgow, Liverpool and Birmingham who take in the most refugees
Anyway, the issue here is the absolute ****housery of those dickheads trying block RNLI boats. There’s a law in place for obstructing emergency workers. They should have been arrested for doing a that.
I agree with your wider point about the Border force paying the RNLI though, this issue has become so regular now that it needs a professional approach to ensure that more lives aren’t lost.
Of course priti Patel could work towards making safe routes for refugees, but we all know that’s not her agenda.
Creating a them and us argument, helps no one. I was putting it into perspective. You don't live in London for a reason, so your point is slightly skewed, shouting from afar. You are like everyone else in reality, not on my doorstep, which is why Kent has had to put out appeals three times.
I agree this shhite needs to be sorted though, especially with the mass of land available for low cost housing in your neck of the woods. We could fit 23k refugees in quite snuggly over there.
