Had my first jab a few weeks ago, was always going to get it, but thought I'd give it a few months to make sure they hadn't ****ed it up. It wouldn't have been the first time if they had. Didn't get the fluey symptoms, but it did give me really bad vertigo for about 5 days. I got out of bed on about day 3 and it caused me to fall over. Saved getting stoned for a couple of days though.

Thirteen players at Portuguese club Belenenses, whose match against Benfica was abandoned in farcical scenes on Saturday, have tested positive for the Covid variant Omicron - accounting for every case currently in the country.
They've got a couple of South African players, which may not be a coincidence.
Thibang Phete made his debut for them in a home game against Namibia in October.

Had a positive antibody result today which I took last week. Probably doesn't mean a lot but making me wonder when I might have had it.

If Hitchcock was still alive I'd tell you to send that in.

i take it you don't count as frontline staff then .

I'm not classed as frontline but I'm half expecting it to be extended as they already ask for it for all new members of staff.

Find out in Spring I suppose. Though so far with clinical staff they're re-deploying rather than terminating (which I still think will become a big legal thing at some point) so I may be okay.

they can probably get round a legal challenge as they can say it is a safety issue just like train drivers being checked for alcohol / drugs before shifts .

Possibly. Think it's a minefield for existing contracts (in that example the provision would already exist) personally but we'll see I suppose.

I'm kinda looking forward to the irony of it tbh considering I can work remotely 100% of the time if I wish. Should be good fun.

Alcohol and drugs affect folks ability to do the job. Not being vaccinated doesn't. I don't see how the NHS win that one in court especially those already employed.

Yeah, for new members of staff organisation's can say and require whatever they want for terms of employment. Not convinced it's that easy for current employees.
