A tragic waste of life.

It was only yesterday I was saying the weather is going to change by the weekend. I doubt it will stop them though. We've had 1,200 crosssing some days, I think we must be around 23k for the year so far, you can't keep up that sort of numbers as we move into the end of November in Dinghies, so if they persist with the promises it appears they are being given by the smugglers of VIP treatment, then there will be many more.

Saw a news report last year, they interviewed some people from Syria, and it was pointed out to them that the channel is dangerous and they could end up dead, unanimously they said it was worth the risk.

I think the solution is for the UK and France to run an official ferry for them, and anyone that tries to use any other means will be sent back via joint agreement.

That will also kill the business of the people smugglers.

They need to find a way that the asylum seekers can make a safe claim/journey to the UK, and in return put the smugglers out of business.

I estimate roughly we are taking in about 60 refugees per day via illegal means along the Dover coast, they are coming here and staying here anyway, so why not make that a safe passage.

The UK and France need to get together and put a stop to this nonsense, so we agree a means of safe journey, and anything else via the channel is sent straight back, and told to try again via the safe designated route.

This way, the asylum seekers can make the same journey but safely, and the people smugglers get put out of business. We carry on accepting them at the rates we have, we are doing it anyway.

Has the man silenced him? Did the offending post get deleted, or is there a copy for my amusement?

From what I remember, he was having a bit of a funny day that day, for some reason he strayed off the Virus thread and tried to start picking an argument with me. I believe he was being his usual excessive self on the virus thread as well, and patience just run out with him.

It may have been the same interview, a guy was asked why the UK and he said it was easier to find work and once settled reunite his family.
