Turning up to see the pope speak Latin, no real thing to crow about if the message is tosh!

Or if you are looking at larger numbers

1934: The 6th Party Congress was held in Nuremberg, September 5–10, 1934, which was attended by about 700,000 Nazi Party supporters.

So is size of audience a measure of credibility

Another 200 dead today from COVID & no one gives a **** it seems.

I know the vast majority will have been unvaccinated by choice, but it all seems so unnecessary & avoidable.

Arijit Singh sold it out. I've never heard of him, largely because he sings in Hindi and Bengali.
Probably would've made more sense to me than Icke though, to be fair.

Nah, I just don't love a good friend of mine dying of cancer leaving two young children behind.

But yeah, sound, let's lockdown again. As long as the beeb say its the right thing to do I'm sure all is sound.
Sorry to hear about your friend, but I'm not sure how the two are connected.
I'm clearly missing something.

We're going to keep going back and forth with this **** for a while, I'm afraid.
The government don't want to commit to either a harsh lockdown or just ****ing it all off.

Well she'd have been okay if she'd have been seen last Summer when she first noticed the problem and tried to get help (the consultant literally told them that they'd have been okay if seen last year).

But no, covid obviously trumped every other health problem init. Who cares about someone in their 20s dying when old people are dying above the average life expectancy.

I'm sure her children will understand.

Yeah, a friend of mine had a similar issue with a kidney problem.
Not yet fatal, but very, very bad for his health.
Our health system's knackered and this has pushed it over the edge.

Fact is, her children will have to deal with the fact that society let their mum die because we couldn't accept that elderly people might die from a respiratory virus.

Awful.

TBF 200 out of 65mil is **** all. How many people died today in total without the 200 covid deaths?

Awful.
And the annoying thing is they will be in the be in the bracket of "wiithin 28 days of a positive test" with no actual cause of death given.

The amount of people begging for another lockdown is ****ing tragic.

Absolute ****ing ********s.
You can already see it coming mate.
They reckon it’s a plan b in case hospitals are overwhelmed. Hospitals have been overwhelmed every winter for the last twenty years!
The **** ****s in charge have had 18 months to put measures in place to make sure our hospitals can cope with a surge in cases AND carry on with routine procedures etc. They’ve done **** all apart from pin everything on the vaccine.

They don't want them to cope.

So the first 3 did **** all apart from screw the economy so let's try it again <laugh>

Either lazy ****ers that wan't to stay at home doing **** all on furlough pay, work from home types who can work from their kitchen table and nobody notices the difference or the people who are terrified of life and all it's twists and turns.

The vast majority are begging to get back out there and live normally. I do work for two companies that are involved in a 10k people rave this weekend in Manchester, i wonder how many at that rave want to work from home, be furloughed or be locked down.
This is just one of 4 such events i know of in the general area.

Don't Agree. Loads of people want to work from home and why shouldn't they. I reckon a fair number from that 10k rave, do work from home. Technology has moved on, it's crazy millions of people travel into their nearest City everyday, when they can do their job from home if they want to. That could be government admin jobs, bank office admin jobs, legal admin, we don't need City offices for these types of jobs anymore. It also helps the young who have child care issues and saves money on costly commuting, that in itself can run into thousands of pounds. Plus it helps the environment by reducing travel emissions. It's only stubborness of employers that had prevented this change prior to covid and that same stubborness which prevents future change that the climate has been calling out for. In fact some employees have probably already made those changes more permanent.

You are confusing/conflating a lot of different issues here.
I have 3 kids all married, 3 of the 6 can and do work from home, child care has not changed, jobs still need to be done so children still need to be looked after. You are either working or looking after the kids you don't/ shouldn't get paid for one of them.
Yes lot's of jobs can be done from home and maybe should be to negate needless travel and carbon production, no problem with that and should continue where possible.
Then we have company's (and i know a fair few so others will know many more) who are still furloughing staff (or certain staff ) when their part of the job is quiet meaning they keep the employee but pay little for them, (pretty sure my company would love to only have to pay me when they called me out to a breakdown <laugh>)

Then there are others who really don't want things to go back to anything like normal either from fear generated by the news or (and there are many) fear of socialising/going out in the world.

it is, if only they would take the most recent Covid prevention drug, not proven to prevent or even endorsed by the people who make it.

Bit of horse medicine will sort you out? That’s Drs in America prescribing for cash! Thankfully here the NHS gives out proven vaccines as death of double jabbed accounted for only 1-2% of all deaths in the first six months this year. And of those deaths the average age of the 620 was 80 plus

Work from home, I would like a hybrid office/home working situation.
We are already looking at the carbon savings this will make toward the company commitment.

lots of our workers across industry won’t be able to do this, but large sections will have a benefit. May also alter working patterns for those who have to work outside of the home.
