I would never say that I don't agree with Aber on certain topics, because I do, I just don't agree with his methods of expressing them.

I think sometime in the future when we are long gone, I fear the future generations will look back on us, will love seeing the freedoms we once had, and question why we allowed ourselves to become a totalitarian society.

There's lots of talk these days about the Chinese, but are we really that much different, ok we don't have the detention camps, but do people forget places like guantanomo bay.

I would say we have sleep walked into this, but even that's not completely true, it wasn't the older generation such as myself that brought about the digital age, we were more or less forced into it. Keep up with your kids or get left behind.

I still remember having the old paper drivers licence, despite trying to hold on to it, eventually had to succumbe to change, because car hire companies abroad would look at it, and you could see them thinking, wtf is this?

Thousands of people voiced their concern over the Dartford Crossing, it fell on deaf ears. Now cops use it to catch county line drug runners, the old bill are having a field day with it. It's the same old saying, if you have nothing to hide.

Well if you are chinese, you need a permit to buy a kitchen knife from a shop. So I think we are some way behind how they are mass controlled.

But an electronic society is the only way a population of 65M can be managed, fed and ensure that plans are made, imagine the chaos i this was an old school paper system? How illegal activity could flourish etc.

It's down to personal opinion.

But don't moan about freedom, while using a mobile on a 12 month contract that you got with your tesco club card points

It's not such a bad idea having some restriction on how knives are being bought! You not seen the killing fields of our major city.

Electronic society to manage 65M people, oh please mate, you just need to know you have 65M people to feed. As for illegal activity flourishing I can't even believe you are spouting this bolloxs, the cameras are to protect businesses not us.

Do I feel any safer than I did 40 years ago, simple answer, no! Actually I feel LESS safe now, because if you speak out of turn or look at someone in the wrong way, you risk them going all stabby on you.

It's all this 'if you've got nothing to hide' and 'imagine the crime rate with out cctv' that has enabled the government to take control of our lives.

So 65m portions of what 3 times a day. Where does it go etc.

Where are people living, what services and levels need to be supplied, simple systems, paperless. Anyway, enough of this, I have 49 mins to get my **** sorted and get out of the office.

We survived hundreds of years without the digital world and we would have survived hundreds more without it.

So now we need the digital world to feed the masses. Think I need to disembark this journey. <laugh>

I've always said the internet is both the best and worst thing humanity has ever created.
On one hand it helps in such huge ways when it comes to business, scientific discovery, law enforcement etc
But it also allows idiots to thrive and give people a voice that probably dont deserve to be listened to (ie everyone on Twitter). Now we are starting to see corporations, governments and all sorts of institutions mould their policies and procedures and make decisions based on a very vocal ******ed minority on the internet.
Social media especially is guilty of this, Twitter in particular.

At least I know why the kids in Africa are starving now, they don't have digital. :bandit:

He's been whipped and no doubt realises the numbers are against him on all sides of parliament..........one thing I know is he won't be anything other than a conspiracy loony looking 2 making big bucks out of thin air in mainstream news if he continues his moral campaign against the propaganda of big pharma

ONS and Zoe app figures are very similar and go completely against the Tories daily positive cases data.

England diving head first into a Covid ****storm of long covid.

Do we continue to listen to the science when we have one of the worst death rates in the world.

Seems government has fkd itself in the arse by giving inflated covid figures out as facts whilst truths are coming out all the time which says figures have been misleading.

Glad I don't vote for the lobbyists myself......my conscious is clear

Nah, that can’t be right. Have you ever met an African who didn’t own an iPhone?

I actually did think that, but thought nah you carry on brb. <laugh>

Anyway for argument sake against what Peej said, I took at a look at the UK population during the 70's it was 56 Million, fook knows how we fed all those people without the digital age lol, as according to google the digital revolution did not begin until 1980. I know you could go back into the 70's but you couldn't really call them computers, they were just tubes that turned on.
