I’ve stopped watching the bbc etc now mate.
I’ve got most of my information from ONS website. Lots of useful stuff, without any political leanings.

Don't dismiss the BBC out of hand though. Radio 4 is a brilliant resource and programmes like more or less drill down into statistical data.

Pure statistical science, no room for bias or opinion.

Khan was saying yesterday that in some boroughs the estimate was now 1 in 20.

that man is a ****. I sat here in a tier 3 area while watching laaandaners crowd the street Xmas shopping. Now they are Loking at police to drive ambulances in London

scientists are biased

they spend all their lives proving themselves right by sticking square pegs in round holes when it’s easier to admit they might be wrong and just start again.

All science has a bias, but the idea of science is to test the theory to try and disprove it.

Scientists who stick rigidly to a theory that doesn't work are just charlatans

I ain't a fan of Khan but to blame him is a joke imho.
He wanted shops and schools shut throughout December but the Government disagreed ... so in all honesty I don't see how he can be blamed for Christmas shoppers.

Yeah, there might be a tiny element of that. Because it's human nature to interpret evidence to confirm your own prejudices. But such an approach runs completely counter to the spirit of scientific enquiry, which requires that hypotheses be subject to the most vigorous scrutiny and that all data be thoroughly interrogated.

That’s why science uses peer review mate.
