It would help it they told the truth about the true numbers of individuals tested, and not massage the figures.
wouldn't argue there mate but still think it would be nice to know some kind of target we are aiming at.,
Like i said (arbitrary figure) so many per thousand tests would be a start.

I think most have already died (sad but true), we never found a true vaccine for "Spanish Flu" but it eventually leveled out once the vulnerable had died.
sometimes **** hits and there is little we can do about it, we all expect the "miracles of modern science" to save us all but nature and it's changes/adaptations will always throw a googlie at us and we just have to live with it.
Spanish flu killed around a quarter of a million people in the U.K., when the population was around a third less than it is now and over 2 years.

The key figure is the R number and they have currently little confidence that it’s below 1 in England.

The R number is bullshit mate, it only relates to the number of people infected ones interact with.
The only way we will know when this thing is easing is when we have a set/standard number of infections against a set number of tests.

No, not really. The R number is a good indicator but is of best use when viewed in areas rather than nationally.

A test ratio is meaningless if you’re just testing people for the sake of it, and driving the supposed infection rate down. Like Trump the other day lauding the US testing figures whilst forgetting to count the stiffs,

Bit weird how our infection rates started to rise with increased testing.
like i have said (and will repeat) infections per so many tests would be more accurate an indicator of the spread regardless of how many tests done.

You test more and you will find more.

you been tested?

Nope but i have my temp took about 5 or 6 times a week dependant on sites i visit
I've not been tested yet either...

For the past 4/5 months just been working, going home...

But what's not say that anyone of the people that have have pulled in during that time, didn't have it?

Our place is still scared of it, but it makes no difference really. It's all a show.

Gotta be honest mate, my life basically hasn't changed at all. had 8 weeks on furlough because we had no customers but since then we have been back to normal.
I probably average 5 sites per day and nothing has changed with the lads on site (have the temp test at reception at quite a few sites).
My biggest gripe/problem is that i have only seen my two oldest granddaughters (4 and 2) twice at their front gate and my newest Granddaughter (now 5 months) not at all except videos.

Without sounding horrible...Get used to it.

Until there is a proven vaccine. This is life...

Just depends on us on how much we want to kill each other....

By the time a vaccine arrives we won't need it as we'll have gone through about 3 waves of the fcker.

I don't hold much hope of a vaccine. And if one does come its effect will be temporary, much like the flu jab.

The pisser is mate the daughter-in-laws family don't work mostly so are in a family "bubble", they have met my newest granddaughter and i haven't and am unlikely to too any time soon.
I accept this because i am the one person in the family that is the biggest/only risk as all the others are working from home. It doesn't help the feeling of missing out though.
