I think one truth he does tell, is the day he went home to his wife, because I remember, SKY were filming outside Downing St that day, and as a reporter was discussing the day events, Cummings left in a hurry from number 10, he clearly had something on his mind, I genuinely believe he was going home to his wife that day, I hadn't seen his expression as on that day, before.

That's the day she fell ill with covid like symptoms (according to what he ssid today)...and he then went back to work that afternoon and that was a clear breach of the rules that had been in place for nearly 4 weeks.

I agree about the constituents. From news reports a lot of the Tory backbenchers still want Cummings gone but waiting to see how the fall-out from today pans out in the next few days with their constituents. Other than that I can't say what will happen, we'll wait and see. If anything it will be less about what Boris and Cummings have said or done, more to do with apathy.

As I've said several times before, I personally couldn't give a **** what happens to Cummings, I just don't like the bullshitters who come out with the bare-faced lies to defend him. In that respect I don't see Boris as any different to Schapps or Gove or Raab tbh.

A lot of the Tory back benchers ****ing hate his guts and always have done. He's been floating around the Tory party for the best part of 20 years. But I think his actions for the vote leave campaign, contempt of parliament, fined for breaking election rules ect, along with him apparently being an obnoxious **** have always put him at odds with moderate conservatives.

Boris will suck him off no matter what he does though as he utterly relies on him. The fat blancmange would wibble himself into a stupor without Gollum pulling the strings.

Yeah, i can't account for what happened later, as you say. But he defo is not lying what happened prior to events. ie him leaving 10 in a hurry. After that the story gets fabricated. I wouldn't even attempt to defend him from that point on. Did he break the law, probably not, did he act within the moral/spirit of the guidelines...by driving 30 mins to that castle place, no. Anything else can only be speculation and what we choose to believe I suppose.

The difference is that backbenchers are not beholden to him and their position means they aren't at his mercy either.

I said a while ago, at the worst point during the last 4 years political divide, when Steve Baker was in tears at times, that he seemed to be a genuine bloke whose beliefs about the B word came across as a principle beyond the diatribe many others like Farage and the likes of Jenkin used to come out with. He's always seemed like that to me, not trying to score political points or rub the noses in people who opposed his views. It's refreshing therefore that he sees beyond the political allegiances and says it how it is now. It just so happens to be a Tory government, but any slimy **** and spin merchants defending him - blue or red should get the same treatment <ok>

Yeah mate, I believe ya. 100%

Don't take my word for it bro. Treble has just outlined one of them above. Steve Baker wants to roast Cummings nads on his bbq this weekend.
