They have about double our deaths but I take your point. There is more to factor in than populations only though. E.g. when it started in each country, that initial response or lack of and then the daily rates of death and the trends that followed. Also, how each State is doing - e.g. California's response has been very good so their numbers are relatively low whereas Michigan's is more than double and they have a lower population density. And of course the nation's orange leader hasn't helped.

yeah, of course theres the period where it can be peaked. No one knows when it started in each country really until it's gotten quite bad. Just surprised their death numbers proportionally are better than ours considering they don't have any public health system really. Admittedly they do have a lot more space for everyone and they aren't as densely populated as us.

Yeah, the orange one is a contradictory mess but as you say, it's the governers of each state who are really enacting policy in each state

The deaths are lagging the infections and the way the States are responding we'll see what happens but I fear it's the tip of the iceberg in the U.S.

It's not just the peak though, the initial response which relates to when it started and those first few cases, is why I highlighted California. Trump not acknowledging it or using the time to prepare was another fck up. The governors are also reliant on him for resources as we saw a few weeks ago with New York governor's spat with him over ventilators.

oh that was more for tels black people discriminated against in the BBC article (was something on my mind).

I wouldn't say people are out and out racists whereby they are violent or shout **** at black people, but there are lots of underlying racial tones, looking down on black people from most of the chinese i have encountered and negative stereotypes. So maybe, making fun of them (not necessarily to their face) or stereotyping them so more casual rather than KKK style.

Tel’s what?

I can't stand that Sam Smith twat. Hate his music and he's one annoying ****.

Random fact that I found out while setting the questions for a Zoom quiz. He has had more UK number 1 singles than David Bowie.
That fact makes me angry
Thanks mate

It was the first thing that came to my mind when you mentioned the two states. My brain instantly thought wealth, and affording medical care. Hence the figures I posted. Also if you tend to be poorer, you are more than likely to be more rebellious against a system that is trying to lock you down, which would fit with your thoughts regarding population density.

Can I sneeze on the food?

only if you don't sell the story to the daily mail, you can do what you like.

I'll throw in some free food for you at the end of the night.

I've been looking to bring on a african lefty for good PR

Great, presumably you don't care that I'm in the UK illegally.
