If people were tested as having it then once they were recovered they could go to work safe in the knowledge they are not putting themselves or their families at risk.
If the test to show if you had already had it, that would do the same.
As it is people are having to self isolate on a guess which inturn is causing their families to self isolate...even though they already may have had it.
On the flip side people who have it but have minor symptoms are going to work, using public transport etc without knowing they could infect others.
So for me tests would achieve some thing as lots of essential staff such as NHS workers, Shop workers, delivery drivers, firefighters, police, public transport drivers, emergency call centres, care staff, council workers (refuse workers, road sweepers, care staff), school staff, postal workers etc would know it is safe for them and everyone they come into contact to continue working.
As I was saying last night mate. I really am not understanding what these tests prove. For example, you state if the test shows someone has had the virus and once they recover they can return to work. But I've seen several instances where it's been claimed the virus can remain inside you, anything from 2 weeks to a month, and aside from that, how sure are we they don't catch it a second time. You could end up with someone with a clean bill of health, but end up wiping out a care home. I appreciate we have to start somewhere, but I believe we need to closely monitor what is going on in other countries at the moment, especially those in the world that are lifting the lockdown. Without the vaccine, I'm just concerned the whole reason we shut down in the first place, could go on to cause so much harm, by lifting it too soon. And like everyone else I'm getting tired of the restrictions to.

yeh sure you weren't. Straight after my post about care homes.
