He has already got the country divided over this issue. Michigan had a rally yesterday, demanding the state is “reopened”
Part of me wants the country to re-open and then suffer the consequences, but that’s not fair on the millions of Americans who will suffer through no fault of their own.

America is a funny one. Most Americans I know are among the friendliest, most generous and helpful people you could hope to meet anywhere. But ****ing hell, in many ways their country is beginning to look like a failed experiment.

The letter raises fears about funding, testing, personal protective equipment (PPE) and the shielding scheme for vulnerable people.

Written on Saturday to a senior official at the Department of Health and Social Care by the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services (Adass), it says mixed messages from the government have created "confusion and additional workload".

On protective equipment for care workers, the letter says the national handling has been "shambolic".

Early drops of equipment have been "paltry" and more recent deliveries have been "haphazard", with some even being confiscated by border control for the NHS.

The letter says there have been contradictory messages from the Department of Communities and Local Government and the Department of Health on the shielding scheme for people particularly at risk from the illness.

And while the rollout of testing for care workers has been generally welcomed, the letter states "testing for care workers appears to be being rolled out without being given thought to who is going to be tested and what we are going to do with the result", raising concerns about false positives.

Responding to Matt Hancock's announcements, made during Wednesday's Downing Street briefing, Adass said: "We now have a national strategy; the challenge is now to implement it. Any strategy will ultimately be judged by actions it produces, not words it contains."

Citizens are not responsible for levels of testing and ensuring front line workers have adequate PPE ... that falls squarely down to governments ...
I never said they were. Citizens are responsible for going out and passing it around when they should be staying indoors.

I'll explain it for you. Archers thinks Toby tells people as it is, but the insults are not directed at Archers and coincidence they happen to share the same political views.

I've not insulted anyone with my views over COVID nor have I taken a political preference.

Saying it as it is as Archers states, means Toby insults people in debate, he's been constantly attacking people with insults, it's not gone unnoticed by me, he's been getting away with it for sometime attacking other people in this section of the forum. Then when I remove Toby, he turns and attacks me behind PM.

All because I voted Tory, which I could have lied and said Labour, no one could have proved to the contrary, it some how makes me a legitimate target.

He says I'm a coward because I use my mod tools, but many people have been removed from this section, Duncs, DMD, Pete, Chaos, Astro, the rules apply to everyone and Toby is no exception. Also Toby has requested I use my mod tools in the GC section on more than one ocassion, but it's ok to use them when he says so.

It’s funny how the same guys who are pretending to be outraged about care home deaths are the same guys who didn’t give a **** about these elderly Brexit voting bastards dying just this time last year.

If Brexit was still ongoing you’d be using the care home deaths as a reason to have another vote.

To be fair you said you’re going on several dog walks a day. That doesn’t really comply with government instructions.
I also said I’m going to an 18th birthday bash and out on the jet ski

Another example of you trying to inflame partisan political discussion on the thread. You’re easily the worst culprit but also the first to complain that people are taking political “sides”.

The phrase "it's their funeral" comes to mind but let's hope not. It's ignorance. Also imagine the mixed messages. Who do you believe?

The big problem for the rest of the world is how does it impact on them? If the infections continue to soar in the U.S. and they start opening up for business, start travelling unrestricted, it will cause problems for everyone.

I just saw your response after posting above. That was a day after the death toll went up by over 2300 in one day! The bloke's first responsibility is to safeguard his population. He's a vile **** who does not give a **** who lives who dies as long as it does not impact on him.

If he fails to win a second term he will lay the blame solely on the Chinese and completely ignore any impact of his catastrophic dismissal, and subsequent handling of, the pandemic ...

I assumed that was just you attention seeking. I took the dog walks claim to be true, particularly as you took the dog on an essential train ride.
Right

It's not pretending at all. This also has nothing to do with Brexit except in your mind. And I have never said any such thing. That's a blatant untruth. Please show this anywhere on the forum.

In truth I know what his issue is, I just wanted him to say it openly.

Toby is a nob, lol, thats all there is too it.

I wasn’t talking directly to you. Chill out.

I was only pointing out the hypocrisy of the lefties.

Mate he will be doing that every day right up to the election. Them and the WHO and any State that continues the lockdown will be blamed by him for his incompetence.

Can only comment personally but my mother-in-law was not fit enough to vote and she is one of the fittest and most lucid residents in a care home of about 90 ... the upper floor is full of dementia patients ... I expect that is replicated in most homes of that kind.

... now whilst I can accept your implied notion that dementia was a likely factor in the Brexit vote, I don't think it was a factor for care home resident voters <laugh>
