You’ve created a league table and in your table you’ve deliberately put the UK 4th for effect even though we’ve got about 5 thousand less deaths than France. That is clearly your biased agenda at work.

You won’t acknowledge other mitigating factors and anybody who tries to bring them up for debate, you belittle them and mock them.

There’s only a massive gap on paper between the top 5 and the rest. They’ll be a lot of countries massively minimising their figures so that huge gap might not be there that you’re screaming about.

Surely it’s not just the government to blame? What about us, the citizens? So many haven’t stuck to the rules and are openly flouting them.

I’ve already said, though. We should be letting the bodies go cold before using them as political battering rams to beat the government with.

My only disagreement was the Xenophobic part mate...I think it is possible to doubt the honesty of the Chinese Government without being Xenophobic.

I have no idea if their figures are true to be honest.

It is hard to learn from someone if they are a proven liar and that is a big issue.

I hope for the people that China contained it and kept the deaths down to less than 4000 and wish I could simply believe it was true.

... my reference there was aimed more at the likes of Trump and his disparaging remarks ...

Citizens are not responsible for levels of testing and ensuring front line workers have adequate PPE ... that falls squarely down to governments ...

All true as far as it goes.

But I am still uneasy with the “let’s blame it all on China” approach. Look who is doing that, and ask yourself why?

That is true...and I share that unease.
My only issue was the idea that doubting the Chinese Government's figures was "rooted in xenophobia" as I think that are valid reasons for doubting the honesty of that government.

BBC article this morning revealing details of a leaked letter from ADASS (Association of Directors of Adult Social Services) to a senior official at the Department of Health and Social Care saying the mixed messages from government have created "confusion and additional workload".

On PPE for care workers, the letter says the national handling has been "shambolic". Early drops of equipment described as "paltry".

****ing bunch of Trotskyite Remainers eh? :bandit:

Dr Bharat Pankhania, a senior lecturer at Exexter university medical school, has said just now on tv, that they are still not sure that people who have survived the virus are immune to it.

Atm tests just show whether you've had it, or not.

We don't include Care Home deaths, France do. The ONS data just 2 days ago showed the actual UK data continues to be massively understated. It was 50% higher. But as I've said you can ignore the Care Homes deaths if they don't matter to you.

I suppose we should just say and do nothing until a year from now. In the meantime we're losing 700-800 a day. Germany anywhere between 20 to 90 a day. I doubt they're under-reporting 12,000 deaths mate unless you've got evidence to suggest otherwise?

Each day we lose that disproportionately higher amount and our overall deaths increase disproportionately we shouldn't be asking what the government is doing about it? It's only numbers.

Trump reckons the US has passed the peak for coronavirus.

Number of deaths from Covid 19 in the U.S. went up 2336 yesterday.

The orange one is now saying he is going to start relaxing the restrictions as early as the end of this week. Potentially millions of people are now going to get caught in the crossfire, just to keep his election dream alive. A bullet would be too good for this ****.

I just saw your response after posting above. That was a day after the death toll went up by over 2300 in one day! The bloke's first responsibility is to safeguard his population. He's a vile **** who does not give a **** who lives who dies as long as it does not impact on him.

He has already got the country divided over this issue. Michigan had a rally yesterday, demanding the state is “reopened”
Part of me wants the country to re-open and then suffer the consequences, but that’s not fair on the millions of Americans who will suffer through no fault of their own.
