It's how we do things. Like we were talking about the other day brb. a graduated response, the country is the patient. Then when the **** hits the fan, do what we should've in the first place.

I just find the whole thing amazing, never in my lifetime did I ever expect to be alive to see a pandemic. I thought it was something that was confined to history such as the great plague. I never foresee a day when the libertarian in me would approve measures more akin to China or North Korea, although I do find many aspects of all that intriguing, black death and NK. The only trouble this time the great myth of 1666 (Fire of London) is not going to save us this time.

You're the only clever one Diego :D

I do think this will have some effect, it will stop the mass gatherings we've seen over the weekend so that's a positive, but it is mixed messages when it comes to limiting people going to work or going out for other reasons.
I can just see the reasoning behind some/most of the moves that have been made, others just look for any reason to decry them with **** all more info than any of us.

like i have said, some thick twats on here who enjoy the moment.

When it all finishes a new town in Kent will be born ... Virusend ... <cheers>

61 mate and it's no guess, i have said it more than once on here and Stan has it logged. He isn't sure about both my parents though but certainly one of them.

Stalker Stan <laugh>
Stan is a ****ing creep...Hr's not normal..

He got banned from here, and created about 20 accounts trying to get on, in one day, and they all got deleted.

Even though his original account wasn;t banned, the thick ****.

I don’t understand why he leaves ‘grey areas’

surely he must read it out to himself and think...hmmm...I’m not very clear am I

wtf

This <ok>

Tbh mate, what Boris has been doing all along is trying to protect big business. It's understandable as most of them bankroll him, but it's a fine tightrope and he's going to end up screwing everyone. There's an old saying... I don't know the secret of success, but the secret of failure is trying to please everyone.

Incorrect. You initially thought it was all a bit of an over reaction while some said more draconian measures needed to be taken as this was some serious ****.

Now that the govt have finally got round to almost taking the draconian measures, you’re claiming credit for wanting them all along while other people, who’d actually said we needed them, are saying it’s a bit of a fudge.

Your lack of self awareness is absolutely extraordinary.

Are you a key worker?
Genuine question.
My job was classed as that by the government last week...schools for children with social, emotional and mental health issues were to be kept open but after tonight's announcement we are closed...so my understanding is that only those in key jobs should be "going" to work.

Funny you say that because mine is still open. We still have kids coming in for key workers. But we're all on a rota so in the next 2 weeks I only need to come in for 2 days.

I don’t know that it’s as much protect big business as it is protect the economy in general. The government are having to take decisions with huge health and economic implications. It’s not an easy thing to do given the unprecedented nature of the situation.

As far as I can see this doesn't go far enough. China needed 2-3 weeks to see the effects of a full lock down and five weeks to get it under control.

We probably have a similar choice, the less we restrict person contact now, the longer it will take for numbers to drop, the delay in Wuhan and the spread at the time of the lockdown meant it took an extra fortnight to bring under control.

Openly agree to that and am surprised how fast it has taken off.
I claim credit for **** all, unless you know different?

I think that was the initial course they took.

No I don't think so mate. I think some wanted tighter measures and greater clarity that's all. To patronise them and call them stupid for wanting that is a little unfair.
