Libby, my eldest had open heart surgery when he was ten years old. He was on the kids cardiac ward in Southampton for three months. I visited him extensively over that period of time. I could tell you stories that would chill your bones and cause you to lose faith in any kind of loving God.

Hospitals are not good places to be at the best of times.

Tbh I have lost a fiver deal down a mouses hole at fence post footing as a teenager and that was enough for me to lose faith in a loving god.

Fair enough, but none of that contradicts the point I made.

There'll also be loads of people having to wait longer than they should for that kind of surgery now due to the shortage of ICU beds.

why have you got your own virus thread ? is this a thing?

I invite others to post their diaries of getting and recovering from this flu.

My thread is less sensationalistic than the other thread and will, no doubt attract less posts, but let's hope it has the effect of helping people put some perspective on this so that they may live their lives in hope and not fear.

I don't even believe you have it tbh.

No, I won't.

You clearly haven't read the official reporting on this issue, otherwise you wouldn't be acting like such an idiot.

Even running with your argument (whatever it is), and assuming that 50,100 deaths in the UK was not due solely to the cold (which they were, because they are 50,100 deaths on top of all the deaths in the UK normally expected during that time), can you not see how 50,100 (or 175,000, whatever the total number of deaths were) in the UK alone is a ****ing sight more than 10,000 deaths worldwide?

I have read it though, it’s patently you that haven’t, otherwise you wouldn’t be misrepresenting it’s content in the way you are trying to.

What’s where the number of ‘deaths from the cold’ in 2017/18 btw?

Mate, I have said, time and time again, that I do not doubt that this virus is a killer. But it's no worse than any other strain of flu in that regard.

The problem has been caused by everyone getting it at once, because it's a new strain.

You've seen how the hysteria has affected people, and the emptying of supermarket shelves, to the extent that the staff are enforcing and policing a rationing of products. Imagine how many unnecessary visits to doctors and hospitals there have been.

I say again, it isn't this virus that is the killer, but the stupidity of the masses, aided by the incompetence of our Government.

you realise the flu killed 50 million on its debut .

the difference is we have a vaccine for that.

@brb banned him from the other one for being a colossal twat.

So he created this attention seeking nonsense, as he’s an attention seeking fat old git, with a cock like a button mushroom.

Something like that anyway.

Already missing the sauna. Superb for helping you sleep (not in it, obviously).

I don't seem to have this problem, I've just woken up from a 2 hour nap. Did the same yesterday and Saturday as well.

I think I'm catching up on about 8 months lost sleep tbh, with all this free time now.

Deaths from actual cold related, Its anywhere between 10k and 35k most years I think, and its mostly the old. (caveat, having a heart attack while clearing your driveway of snow would probably put you in these stats.
