I don't mind admitting I'm getting a bit lost with diagnosis. Are ppl being diagnosed or not?

I thought if you phone up now, they just tell you to self-isolate, but the news is saying Boris has said diagnosis will be up to 20,000 a day or something?

I assume they’re extrapolating based on the number of bona fide confirmed cases.

I believe its depends what you describe as your symptoms over the phone. If you for example state you have many of the known symptoms and also have trouble breathing, you will be put forward for a test. If you have the symptoms and just have the flu, so basically around 80% of people that catch it, you're told to just stay home and get better.

It would still be useful to know you had it so that if reinfection is unlikely you're able to help out more

Apparently London could be going into lockdown from Friday as it's the epicentre of the virus.

I'm just relaying what I think, if you'd like I can pen the PM and inform him of your suggestion?

I've heard a couple of rumours of a nationwide curfew from Thursday night.

It's just not how we do things here so I don't believe it, but we may get to a point where it will be necessary.

Yep heard something similar but nationally.

I have some concern that people do not realise the wider potential dangers of this virus, maybe because of complacency, good health or age being on their side.

Those wider implications are this will affect anyone and everyone, especially once we reach the numbers that Italy have struggled with. So during the peak period, pray you do not have a stroke, heart attack, an accident at home or at work or any condition whatsoever, because there will be no resources left to help you.

Once the beds are full of people with the virus, there will be no space left to aid any other medical condition, one does not take priority over. Just a thought for anyone who thinks they will be ok in all this, because if fate deals you or your family, young or old, any sort of blow in the coming months, you could be well and truly fooked.

I think closing off London is the most obvious decision they could make.

Once again, the question has to be, how long is this all going to go on for? Donald T the man with the plan said all ****ing summer.

I'm hoping it won't be that long but I fear the worst.

Today I found out I'm going to be hit in a big way financially the longer this goes on.

I also don't think the government will do anything to help so...

2 weeks ago he said it was a hoax, then he said it was just a bit of flu, now he’s claiming that he knows more about it than anyone else. The man is insane.

I think this might be why we're trying to hold off on a lockdown for as long as possible. We don't know how long it's going to be neccesary for and I'm sure they don't like the idea of having the country on lockdown for 6 months+ with the additional problems that presents.

As will I, tbph, as will potentially millions of people across the continent.

It's a disaster.

Day 1 of working from home. And I’m going mad already. Feel locked in already!

Early days but so far I’m cool with it. Lots of conferences calls and people checking in on each other. A lot of my colleagues are Italian/Spanish but no reports of anyone’s family being affected as yet. Think morale in any office will take a big hit when someone is badly affected.
