No, I know that and worded it wrong. I mean she's (seemingly) not willing to stop doing her thing.

Yep I hear you. I basically had to read the riot act to my Mum earlier.

'No mum, it's not okay to go along to your art group with 15 other 70+ year olds'

I don't know if it's something you would consider, but I do all my repeat prescriptions online. It's so easy, you just go online, click your meds in the repeat section, and within 3 working days you go and pick your meds up directly from the chemist.

Yeh I do this as well, but my dad would have to register for it. Which shouldn't be a problem, but when I said to him today, don't go there just phone them I'm sure they'll take care of it without you coming in considering your age and given the guidance, at which point he says "nah they won't do it" and I knew at that point no matter what I said he wouldn't phone and would end up just going. Just easier to take care of it for now and register online later.

US just chucked huge fiscal stimulus programme at the economy. Suggests they’re expecting things to really turn to **** soon. Interesting times.

Because I have to see my doc regular, they practically encouraged me to get set up online. So glad I done it now, i can order repeat prescriptions (sent directly to a chemist of your choice). I can request for the doctor to phone me. I can book my own appointments to go and see a doctor. Basically it puts you in control. For example tomorrow the doctor will phone me, saves me going into a surgery and picking up a bloody virus! You also have access to all the basic information about yourself, from the meds you require to your medical conditions. You can even share the information with ppl who need to know it.

Looks like we've all got similar cantankerous old parents <laugh>

I've been trying to get my Mum to sign up for online banking and home deliveries from Sainsburys.

She's like 'Oh I don't know how any of that stuff works'
So I say 'Don't worry about it, I'll set it all up for you'
Her 'No, I really don't think I need to get involved in any of that'

I think life goes through phases for everyone, most healthy people get to their 60s with very little thought of death, after that many realise they have more life behind them than in front and later still they get to the stage that you have to go sometime so just live the best you can and enjoy it.

Agree mate. I also think there's an element of returning to a child like phase.

My auld fella lives in sheltered housing with his Mrs, they were all in the lounge last night eating pizza and getting pissed. People wander in and out of the place all day.

That’ll have to change Dad.

But the Waaaarrrrrr
