Not really sure what you are not understanding about the situation. Italy has now had over 1,000 deaths due to virus, I'm sure if that was a thousand scouser deaths, we wouldn't have to spell the situation out for you, the whole nation would be expected to mourn. The bodies in Lombardy are now being piled up in the churchs, because they cannot bury them. The church bells have stopped ringing in that very religious country, because it was becoming overwhelming. But it's true, I'm sure if any region was affected by deaths then the people of that region would think differently about the situation. If the season is cancelled, then in all likelihood the season will be wiped clean.
There will be financials to sort out, of course, but every bit of sense points to the season being written off mate.
