No need to ... Boris reiterated today that he "bitterly regrets the corona virus crisis in care homes" ... at least he's held his hand up to his government's woeful inadequacy in that regard ... small comfort to the relatives of course ... but fair play for coming clean <ok>

Oh, so if Boris is responsible for that then I guess before you were really giving him a pat on the back for ‘the rest of the UK having far more impressive stats‘

Why not, it's apparently fine to play football now so exercise and driving should be no problem at all.

Someone with a smashed leg needing an ambulance to hospital is no different than someone in a car crash needing the same and football is good exercise.
Main difference being a person in a car is not in close physical contact with several other people.

    Football is easy. There's relatively little sustained contact anyway. What I don't understand is;

You can drive to work and be around other workers for 8 hours.
You can drive to the park and be around strangers all day.
You can not drive to a house and be around friends/relatives for drink.

You don't need sustained contact to break a leg.

Once you get out in the world you will realise that work situations and walking through or sitting in a park is in no way similar to being in someones living room having a brew.
Lots of things for you to learn as you grow :emoticon-0105-wink:

I'll stay away from all of them until Hendo lifts the PL anyway.

You thinking government wouldn't kill off some of the disposable public is a bit trusting of you.

Gardening stuff because the garden centre was closed.

They may as well have left the garden centre open but with social distancing.

So who decides if it’s safe to go to work then?

And this doesn’t apply if I work for a small business? As they’re not opening until at least June?

    What’s small?

Nowt impressive about leaving the most vulnerable in society exposed to this virus for way too long and only just getting around to testing them and their carers ... <ok>

As I said earlier, I would have to take the train to St Pancras ... matters not the size of the company I work for or how well they manage my social distancing when I'm there ... the damage would be done on the journey (there and back), as it would be for all commuters ... so this latest 'advice' is just stupid and dangerous and the infection rates and the resulting deaths will just start rising ... where did the "we must avoid a second peak at all costs" mantra disappear to? ... unbelievable <doh>

You can work from home can't you? Think if you can work from home then you should still be doing that. I'm not suddenly planning on going into work.

This is more aimed for the people who have been sat around doing/earning **** all.

Had an email from the RMT this morning. Here’s an extract...

Won’t be a problem though, because Boris was equally clear that people returning to work today should not do so using public transport. Unless they do. Or something. All very clear.

Not as effectively by any means - some individuals that live in London would be able to cycle or walk to the office and, when that happens, the pressure on the rest of us will rise ... but the real point is this, what has really changed since we went into lockdown? ... Nowt... the numbers of new infections and deaths every day mean we are still at category 4 on the Government's own threat level chart ... so why the fook is it a good idea now to relax the very restrictions they put in place to stop the spread?

You can easily get half a dozen people on a tube carriage safely. I’m sure that’ll be plenty. Crack on.
