We sent 650,000 items of PPE to China at the end of February.
It's hard to fathom a government being so short sighted

So much for 'just in time.'
We seriously need to be giving this work to the UK manufacturing industry, and in all the questions asking why that's not happening, I've not heard one response to justify the reason not to. It just goes to show once again, no lessons are being learned.
We need where possible to stop giving work to China & Turkey, that's no disrespect to those countries, but we've got a labour force and industry crying out to do this work. What's the problem, extra cost, suck it up, print money, do whatever you have to do! No raw material, well think outside the box, create something we do have the raw material for.
There is no excuse. We have shops full of the raw material. No one is buying all these throwaway items of clothing so turn them into something useful
I reckon they’ll send out Lee Hurst.Exactly. Whatever you create gown wise, you can just use whatever is available, as I mentioned yesterday, wipe down or washable materials, and as someone replied, something is better than nothing.
Be interesting to see who front's todays briefing because the media are going to have a field day.

Aren’t the likes of Burberry and Barbour doing this already?
No idea but there is an unknown reason behind it as the stool pigeons refuse to answer the question at the daily briefing. Maybe it’s simply because it’s cheaper.Yes they are, but other businesses are crying out for the work to. Clearly B&B can't cope with it all, so why we giving the work to Turkey?

Who knew he was lazy. No one called that at all. Stick the Chancellor in charge. He comes across like he gives a **** and is competent. Leave Johnson to finish his book and **** his latest bint.
Zionist or not, the man is a ****ing clown. I don't think there's any great conspiracy about Trump and his motives. It's simply all about him and he doesn't give a **** about anything other than his own ego and re-election.
Well saidSo much for 'just in time.'

Did you say UK manufacturing industry? Yeah, alright. Maybe Dyson can help.
Shouldn’t that be the full Welsh? @luvgonzo
I'm not sure your point?
From what was stated at yesterdays briefing there is small to medium businesses crying out for this work, that had been given to Turkey.

Can the uk expect to be anywhere near competitive and maintain standards, pay and working conditions? Also have to consider the additional cost of having to ship in a lot of the raw materials.
